So we lost to buffalo and Toronto on this trip, and we're supposed to be cool with that? Ok.

Well... would you feel better losing your cool over a couple games in December when the Kings are still comfortably at the top of the division?

I was more confused as to why Quick didn't end up starting because even the pre-game 5 minutes before puck drop they were saying it was Quick vs Bernier.

wtf is Sutter doing with Andreoff on the 2nd team PP. The PP is bad enough and he does that ugh.

But he stood right in front of the goalie when he was out there. I don't care who on the Kings does that, but someone needs to do that.

So we lost to buffalo and Toronto on this trip, and we're supposed to be cool with that? Ok.

Ultimately, they got 7 out of 12 points on the trip. On December 7th, before the trip started, they were 7 points up on 2nd place SJ, both with 26 GP. As of right now, the Kings are up 9 points on 2nd place SJ, and both teams have played 32 games. As not great as some of their performances were, they actually gained ground. Sure, it's because the Pacific sucks, but, that's how it goes. Gained ground on everyone but Calgary.

One odd stat for the Kings is that in terms of shots on net, they were actually out shot in the 6 games 195-184. They gave up 40+ shots twice, and 30+ shots 4 times. Out shot in the last 2 games 79-46.

The real fun comes in the next 5 games to close out the calendar year. All of them against the Pacific, and 4 of the 5 on the road.

Plan the parade, Toronto.

We're already on it. West from the ACC, up Bathurst to College, fans give the bird to the Parliament buildings, south down Bay, drunken right turn and unscheduled journey north again up Spadina, across and south down Yonge Street, west to city hall where everyone refreshes their flasks from city owned barrels of rye, back to the ACC for slurred speeches and the careless passing of the Cup where Grabner drops it from the podium and it's caught at the last second by a nine year old kid who ends up starring for the Leafs a decade from now. It's all planned out.

I think the worst part is that we've given away keys to beat the Kings while playing against two of the worst in the league. Trap. Control the center of the ice, keep the Kings on the outside, and then counterattack with an odd man rush. :shakehead

Only when the Kings are willing to stay on the outside in the offensive zone.

Meh... glad Bernier got his game turned around. Kings didn't give him much of a challenge because the Leafs played out of their minds (seriously, that was a clinic), and the Kings couldn't connect a pass to save their lives.

More points than games on the road trip is a good road trip.

It went like this:

Trying to watch the Kings while the kid was throwing ornaments..

1-0 going into the 3rd. "I'm a bit ahead, i'll watch it a bit on 2x to see if the Kings get something started"

2-0 "WTF" 3x

*whizz*, there goes a fluffy reindeer.

3-0 "sigh" 4x

*crushing sound as snow globe gets dropped on a shiny red bulb*

4-0, 5-0 LOL delete.

 High five.

Nothing to analyze, everyone was terrible, leafs played well, that's it.

Will it make the east coast pundits hate us? of course. Will the main board think every player is overrated? Of course, now they have 4 games of evidence, that's all they need to make an informed decision.

Getting outshot handily in the last several games doesn't tell me we're awful, it tells me we're banged up and tired, and playing short forwards early in the trip with Doughty and Kopitar getting overloaded was dumb as ****.

Get home, clean off your face, and get ready for some more important games.

Unless you think Kopitar being -4 is normal, then go ahead and panic, but go do it in the confines of your home, because you'll get made fun of here.

I kind of want to see the Leafs win a cup now just to see this happen - but it has to unfold just like you described.

Missed the game because of work for 2nd straight game but DVR it....wtf is Sutter doing with Andreoff on the 2nd team PP. The PP is bad enough and he does that ugh.

When you see a sniper score on the PP, you probably think, 'Nice shot!'... but what you obviously don't see is the guy screening the goalie.

These types of plays don't get recorded on the stat sheet but are required to win games in this league.

Before this season or the last, The Kings have had problems scoring goals because not enough players go to the areas around the net. Same can be said for screening the goalie.

Players like Ryan Smyth and Milan Lucic are of this mold; it's too bad you think teams win with just snipers only. You even need your Stone Hands Lewis and Shore type of guys. It's a team game, after all.

Yes and no. I can see losing to a good team, but we lost to two of the worst teams playing the same listless brand of hockey. The only difference was we didn't get blown out in Buffalo. Beat the teams you should beat, and take the points, dont throw them away.

It would not be a parade -- it would be a riot.

The Mayor would have to call in the army to restore order.

So now Bernier. We've been for years specialists at making bad/mediocre goalies look good, and/or at letting slumping goalies rebound against us. It's nothing new.

One of the more embarrassing results in recent memory. 0-5 in Toronto...

But, let's move on and win the next game. GKG!!

You should give classes on how and what to watch in hockey, you give classes and we will get a couple guys who can write contracts give classes because the people who negotiate for the team are clearly idiots, luckily some of the dollar watchers also propose trades where we end up losing martinez but get dion for almost twice as much so they can give GM classes and all will be right with the world
