i think he needs a full offseason to rebuild his speed, problem is are we willing to take on that risk.I wonder if his knee is pooched. If so maybe we can robidas island him or have him get another surgery/stash on LTIR.
Mikheyev just doesn't seem to win puck races anymore. He was always good for breakaways but that ACL injury just zapped his speed.
It's not solely his speed that is his concern. It's the fact he is not getting any younger and continues to get banged up from nothing plays. This has been a concern since his Toronto days where he sustained two injuries from non-contact plays.i think he needs a full offseason to rebuild his speed, problem is are we willing to take on that risk.
Biggest game of the year and Mik is scratched. Think that's tells you alot about his future on the team.
His $4.75m through 2025-26 with a modified NTC makes me think he will be around for at least another season unfortunately.Biggest game of the year and Mik is scratched. Think that's tells you alot about his future on the team.
at least cole was solid the entire season + the first roundThank god.
I'm not sure who's been a bigger net negative on the Canucks: Cole or Mikeyev.
guys guys i was just walking on west 41st and saw a guy in a #5 ballard jersey. at first as he was walking towards me i was like, that 5 seems oddly placed to be a horvat jersey, then as i passed him i was like, maybe it’s a custom with his own name on it. but i turned around to make sure after we passed each other, legit keith ballard jersey.
despite all common sense, i choose to take this as a good omen
happy game day everyone
Didn't Keith Ballard wear #4 for the Nucks?guys guys i was just walking on west 41st and saw a guy in a #5 ballard jersey. at first as he was walking towards me i was like, that 5 seems oddly placed to be a horvat jersey, then as i passed him i was like, maybe it’s a custom with his own name on it. but i turned around to make sure after we passed each other, legit keith ballard jersey.

Yeah I think Ehrhoff was 5Didn't Keith Ballard wear #4 for the Nucks?
yep averages 54 games and has 62 career goals in 300 games which means you can expect 11 goals if he has an average season. Sad part is that data is with Pettersson Kuzmenko Matthews Marner Tavares Nylander for large chunks. It's not solely his speed that is his concern. It's the fact he is not getting any younger and continues to get banged up from nothing plays. This has been a concern since his Toronto days where he sustained two injuries from non-contact plays.
He's an awkward player who lacks skill to be a top 6 player and has zero grit to be a bottom 6 player.
You do whatever you can to ship this player out and replace him with a league min player or a prospect.
100% this, they are capable of it watching that forecheck in the 3rd last game.I wanna dominate, not just win
Make a statement tonight

Took 60 games of Mikheyev bricking everything to figure it out though.Good to see these adjustments to the lines. Keeping the same Petey line would have been insane.
And welcome back, Mr. Soucy. As always, you were missed.
but let us all live in a fantasyland where we entertain the 1% chance best case scenario of the mikheyev signing, which ftr i hated at the time, where he becomes the player blake coleman became under similar circumstances.
that said, i am far happier to have mikheyev turn into eriksson and miller turn into miller than if mikheyev had turned into blake coleman and miller had stayed... well basically blake coleman. can’t win 'em all.
