At my buddy’s house in Dallas and he randomly turned on women’s collegiate rugby championships and Lindenwood is winning 25-0 over Dartmouth

And now the men’s team is about to play for a championship.

No matter how many rugby games I've seen, I have no idea what's going on.

Lindenwood and Life men's rugby have had quite a rivalry over the years though.

Same. No clue what’s going on. LOL

Lindenwood was down 0-19 with only a few mms to play and they came back and tied it with a chance to win.

Not really a sport that interests me.

An interesting pickup for the Lindenwood roster this season is Montreal Canadiens 2019 7th round draft pick Kieran Ruchienski. Standing at 6'6 on the blueline.

In other news the LU Women's NCAA team posted their schedule on Instagram, still waiting for the inaugural NCAA men's schedule to be released.

What is that weird code that shows up on some posts?

I've seen it several times and finally started feeding the code into my neural network.

Now, I can actually skate well enough to play hockey.

I wonder if any of the games from the men and women’s programs will be televised on Bally or BTN ?

What a day it will be for STL sports on October 1st
The football program will play their first conference game against SEMO at home at 2:00 PM central, the hockey team’s D1 debut will be at 8:00 pm, Mizzou will play the defending champion Georgia Bulldogs, and who knows which playoff round the Cardinals will play in knock on wood ?

Definitely will be a huge day. And the Blues have their KC exhibition game against the Stars that day too.

Big announcement today with the inaugural NCAA D1 Home Opener series being a rematch with Air Force

I feel like a kid on Christmas morning now whenever I get a message from them.

The men's full schedule has been posted on the athletics website. Looks like the best bets to see the Lions this season are either Oct. 14-15 when the host Air Force, a rematch of an exhibition series the teams played last season. And Feb 10-11 vs. fellow NCAA DI newcomer Stonehill. That series in February will also be a double header with the LU women's team hosting RIT.

Only 2 home series the entire season??

I think they have 3-4 games to play with that they could add to get to the 34 game limit, and if so would hopefully be at home. But yes a very road heavy schedule for this first season.

So the men will play one blue blood after another in November and December. Ouch, but if you want to climb to their tier, then this is how it’s done. It worked well for Bobby Bowden and his Florida State football Seminoles in the 80’s.

There will certainly be some ugly scores mixed in throughout the year. But I also there's a good amount of games they can be competitive and have their best chances of picking up wins in, such as the Alaska's, Bentley, Stonehill, LIU, Air Force, AIC, and a Vermont team that hasn't had it's best seasons of hockey lately. Air Force definitely outscored the Lions last season in their exhibition series, but I thought 5v5 those games were very even, problem is LU took a lot of penalties and the Falcons capitalized on a very hot PP.

As you say, those teams are the best benchmark that all teams aspire to be in the company of, step 1 is to start playing the games.

Two weeks from today (10th), the football program will become the first STL area team to play a D1 game since the Billikens lost to the Houston Cougars at home on November 24, 1949. So, let’s take a look at the U.S. economy back then: What Things Cost in 1949

To put this into perspective, Elizabeth was not yet named the Queen (1952) the last time a local program played a Division I football game.
