You're not sure being significantly overweight, one of the slowest, least fit major leaguers is negatively affecting him? It’s also not difficult to understand this is how he has also looked and he’s a really good baseball player, so I’m not sure it’s negatively affected him. If he lost a ton of weight, it may actually have a negative impact on his baseball skills.
Umm David Ortiz, Cecil Fielder, Babe Ruth, I'm sure others can add more to that list. Being "in shape" does not impact you being able to put the bat on a ball, will it help in other aspects possibly, but he's a good player regardless of his weight. I mean Stanton looks to be in shape and I don't think anyone wants him. You're not sure being significantly overweight, one of the slowest, least fit major leaguers is negatively affecting him?
Getting stronger, fitter, in better shape as a pro athlete may have a worse impact on his baseball skills....?¿
Srsly.
You really believe that or just being contrary to not abandon your incorrect perspective?
C'mon lets not be ridic already, there's little to no excuse for kirk to not be in better shape every year, especially being so young.

He is the exact type of player team like Tampa look for. Guys with talent who people dismiss and overlook for flawed reasons.Kirby Puckett, Pablo Sandoval, Prince Fielder, Mo Vaughn, Tony Gwynn
It's also worth pointing out that it's entirely possible Kirk's body defaults to this shape. He may simply be unable to meaningfully lose weight or change his type/shape no matter how hard he tries, or only through methods that would negatively impact his athletic skill (like almost starving himself or going on a diet that lacks sufficient balance of nutrients)
Indeed, he didnt get rattled at all from that leadoff homer.Berrios was great today. He had great command of his breaking balls. He was throwing nasty pitches out there. Great game.

Hahahaha okok you guys are ridiculous, nevermind, y'all win.Kirby Puckett, Pablo Sandoval, Prince Fielder, Mo Vaughn, Tony Gwynn

Athletes should stop training, stop working out you cant change your body without "negatively affecting your athletic skill".
Vlad, manoah gain back the 30lbs of fat no problem, become a better baseball player like david ortiz and prince fielder!
Why does anyone anywhere workout really, doesn't matter how fat and slow you are, just accept your default body shape and don't try to improve at all.
Gotcha bois, well played.
Fat 1, fit 0.
By all accounts he put a lot of work in this offseason. He just has the body type that losing significant weight is just not possible. He’s not sloppy or flabby, he’s just solid.Hahahaha okok you guys are ridiculous, nevermind, y'all win.

Haha this all just sounds even dumber, this is a pro mlb player with endless resources available were talking about, not joe blow from Scarborough.Don't be an idiot or an asshole. I never said this was true for everyone. But it is true for some people. I also specifically said that it might be that he can't diet in a way that will both allow him to lose weight and function athletically. Which is not a crazy or radical idea. Because what's the easiest way to try to lose weight? Eat less. Particularly eat less high calorie foods, less carbs/starches/sugars. But when you're trying to do something intensive like play sports, what does your body need? it needs energy to do that stuff. Which will often come from carbs. So sure, you can have him on like a 1200 calorie a day diet doing a bunch of cardio and see if the pounds melt off. But will he be able to play a full baseball game on that diet? Doubtful. You try not eating for a couple of days and then go out and run and play a game of baseball for a few hours and see how it goes.
In a perfect world everyone should be in shape. But the reality is that for some people it's a lot easier to achieve that and for some it's far more difficult if not impossible. And peoples' default assumption is that their experience must be everyone else's. And that if someone can't do the same thing then that's their failing and not just different circumstances.
the fact that you're backed into a corner and have nothing to fall back on except a facetious sarcastic strawman to pretend to wave the white flag to saysthat you don't really have anything except to harp on the same point with no acknowledgement that the real situation is probably far more nuanced than "tubby needs to lay off the donuts and hit the gym."
Yep it's impossible for him and so many others, once you find your default body shape that's it can't change it.By all accounts he put a lot of work in this offseason. He just has the body type that losing significant weight is just not possible. He’s not sloppy or flabby, he’s just solid.

But yeah you win, he couldn't have gotten in better shape in the offseason its just too difficult for some ppl, and almost impossible for others.
Plus don't want to negatively affect his baseball skills.
Hopefully kirky, bichette and biggio gains 20 more lbs this year so they turn into homer mashing sluggers like vogelbach, and get better at baseball apparently.
Go jays go!!

They are an Efflin injury away from having an entire MLB calibre rotation on the IL.Very nice opener. Berrios solid, offense with some pop, and pen shut it down.
Man I hope the Rays suck this year for once.
Yep, i got nada, you win again nemesis. So you've got nothing. Figured. Usually the people who are the quickest to resort to being childish assholes about stuff are the ones who can't actaully argue their point. Or understand others without resorting to dumb crap like this.
Serious question: what is even the point of replying if you don't read what you replied to and instead respond to something that wasn't said? Do you get some strange self-fulfillment out of it? Honestly completely perplexing, although pretty par for the course for a sports fan on the internet.Haha this all just sounds even dumber, this is a pro mlb player with endless resources available were talking about, not joe blow from Scarborough.

Yep, that's just his default body. Can't change it, don't try, won't make any positive difference in his baseball career.Kirk obviously put a ton of work in this offseason and is noticeably slimmer. Yet he's still shaped like a bowling bowl because that's his body shape. There is nothing he can do about it. That fact doesn't somehow mean that Bichette or Biggio—who have slim body types— should gain 20 lbs. What a ludicrous comment. You should feel bad for even thinking that let alone writing it.
