Can't really break up the Lindholm line now, but they really should have tried EP with Joshua/Garland in the late stages of the season to try and get him confident again. EP had his best game of the playoffs in Gm 1. Hopefully he can quickly get back to being his dominant self even without the winger help.

No, you can't because Lindholm has been way better than Pettersson in the playoffs.

Really hope Silovs can rebound. While we may not need .930SV%, somewhere near average would be ideal as I think we will encounter periods in the series where luck doesn't go our way.

Oilers will get their powerplays and capitalize on them. Canucks just need to keep the pace 5 v 5 and make the best of their chances. You just know the penalties will come in bunches, especially if we jump out to the lead.

What a morning it is ! Checked on Oilers board and the comments regarding no penalties like they are just entitled to PP's hilarious. Keep that engine running boys you found another way to come back from 3 down unbelievable !!

The way penalties should be called is the team with possession should get the majority of the powerplays. Credit to the referees, they didn't really game manage.

That was the first game all playoffs (any series) I've actually seen this.

What's really funny is Zadorov name checked both refs before the game. Said he was excited those guys were the refs because of how fair they are. Tocchet and Canucks management had a lot of discussion with the NHL about the powerplay in-balance in round one. Maybe, just maybe, having a true old boy in Rutherford will change the fortunes a little bit.

Some Edmonton fans crying some very oily tears about the reffing, but the saner ones are more angry about their lack of offense after goal 4, and their truly atrocious D pairing of Ceci and Nurse. That is a pairing that is going to get destroyed by our forecheck and transition all series long.

Edmonton probably actually got away with more stuff than we did in this game because they were on the back foot defending all game. Also there was a blatant chop to the back of Boeser's leg right at the end of the 1st period that had him on the ice in agony and should have been a call.

I can really only remember one Tyler Myers play along the boards that I felt a 'phew' on when an arm didn't go up. Didn't see a replay of the Suter gloved puck thing.

Again, Nurse, Ceci, Bouchard are all susceptible to mistakes especially against a very aggressive forecheck. They don’t have the battle level or intensity to keep up with relentless pressure. Skinner is skinner, he’s a leaky faucet 100% of the time, enough shots on net and he will let a couple in.

I think the only change id make is permanently reunite the lotto line and have Suter center Mik and Hog. Simpson even mentioned this during the broadcast that Pettersson was open several times and his linemates were not quick enough or able to get the puck to him. Pettersson’s talents and strengths are wasted with two north south forwards. Suter compliments them much better. And Pettersson on the lotto line can just focus on doing what he knows best.
