Oilers strategy:

Bottom six forces an offensive zone draw.

Top line wins the faceoff and spends 90 seconds of time in the zone, eventually drawing a penalty.

Top line stays out for the full 2 minutes, McDavid darts around a bunch to tire everyone out.

Draisaitl is somehow left open, McDavid cuts to the middle and passes to Draisaitl, who shoots a one timer short side.

They have done this four times in this series and scored every time.
The only reason they can do this shit is because we have no one that can keep their top line in check...Look at how Dallas shuts down Colorado's top line. We can't do shit because we overpaid a playoff dud in Pettersson.

I remember there was a time when Petey looks like a slightly worse version of Datsyuk. If only we have that version of him now, we win this in 4. Defensively and goaltending we can slow down the Oilers enough, we are just packing that little bit of offense.

To be fair, if Datsyuk is the comparable its pretty spot on - Datsyuk went full on ghost mode his first 3 playoff runs as a top 6 forward until he figured it out.

I'm trying not to be doom and gloom here (truly) but I've seen enough hockey where fumbling 6 mins of PP time like that can completely swing a game/series.

All we did was give the Oilers confidence there. We need some big plays to take momentum back now. Gotta punch back hard here.

Get back to basics hit hard pressure on forcheck 1 goal isn't enough to hold oiler d in a game play hard

The results weren’t as bad as they could’ve been, but the whole team looking tentative and half asleep is what the disaster is. Have to come out big in the second or we’re cooked
I agree. People are acting like the Oilers are up 5-0 or something.

Silovs has been sharp, the Oilers seem to be getting emotional, as Kane keeps taking penalties, etc.

Well there's one thing you can take to the bank.....if Demko was in the net, they wouldn't be faring any better.

You'd think that playing in front of a rookie goaltender would be a big motivator. But right now, they're relying on Silovs brilliance just to survive.

And the good news is that Silovs is no 'flash in the pan' and the Canucks have a genuine 'goaltender controversy' on their hands next season.

f*** it’s just an Oilers bl**j** show. Unbearable

Oilers had a good period outside of the stupid pens by the usual (moronic) suspects and the Canucks were absolute trash, including embarrassing efforts from their best players.

What do you want them to say?

How can they not just setup the power play? They can’t get anything going it’s ridiculous
It's because they don't have much command of the puck. They're just playing like a plucky, scrappy team. Which is noble... But it's beneath them quite frankly.

For all the talk about Pettersson, Hughes hasn't been the same since taking those big hits vs. the Predators. And particularly not since Hyman put him headfirst into the boards.

A ghost of Pettersson, a banged up Hughes, and no Demko does not bode well for this team's chances to win at any point in the season.
Shows how stacked the team is. The fact they’re winning in spite all of this

Tocchet only tells the media he wants more shots and more pressure on McDrai.

Clearly the actual game plan is different. This is Travis Green shit.

Friedman brings up Kane should of possibly gotten a 5 and a game, and oiler homer Gadzic completely ignores him and talks about being careful with your stick.

Its not even his lack of production and scoring touch that is concerning me. Its the fact that Petey looks disinterested and unengaged on the ice. Poor body-language. No emotion. No fire.

You're being paid millions of dollars, for a passionate fan-base that adores you, with the chance to win glory in the NHL post-season. What the hell dude. So disappointing.
