Out: Juulsen, Aman, Karlsson, Lafferty
In: Soucy, Hoglander, Podkolzin, PDG

Use home ice advantage to load up the lines more.
Respectfully, do people really think that any of those changes outside of Soucy matter?

We didn't lose this because of guys like Lafferty or Aman.

We got outplayed for 50 minutes.

Garland's line was basically the only line to do anything 5-on-5.

Were there players who contributed nothing? Absolutely. Should our playoff hopes hinge on 4th liners making an impact? Probably not.

Bouchard has been a huge difference maker in this series. He keeps holding pucks in and creating extra chances with the Canucks trying to exit the defensive end.

Sucks that the Oilers actually have a star defenceman after years of absolutely nothing.
Thankfully the Nurse contract will prevent them at actually improving their blueline.

I don't love the "it's not good enough, and they know it" from Tocchet in regards to the PP.

Sorry sir, you are the coach.

You need to fix the PP.

You can't say "yeah they know it wasn't good so they'll do better."

It's not coaching when you can't win a battle or get first to dump ins.

There is plenty there to critique Tocchet on, but the top unit PP not being able to set up by gaining the line or dumping it in is not on him.

Even with 1.47 left in a tie game, I still figured the Canucks were in mortal danger. What Hronek was doing out there in the final minute is a mystery only Tocchet can answer. Kane blew him up with a forecheck and Bouchard scored seconds later. Not only does Hronek lose puck battles but he can't stay upright.

He might be playing his way off this roster. There's no way I'd pay him $7m a season on a new contract.

Another heroic effort by Arty, although that last one he probably wants back. But a screen was likely. And racing out to deliver that Johnny Bower poke-check even had Kelly Hrudy bubbling in amazement.

Silovs is not only the goalie of the 'present' but of the 'future' as in the 'immediate' future. Demko trade talks should start as soon as the season is over. Some goalie-starved team in the East would cough up a bevy of young assets to acquire him.

And the Canucks need more youth, size and speed everywhere. They proved they could trade Horvat at the top of the market, So they should try again.

lol, too soon.
Imagine if people traded Demko because Spencer Martin was looking really good with that 0.950 SAV%.

It’s such a strange thing the game prior they looked lights out on the pp, but the next game they can’t gain entry on that double minor. They need to start working on different entries that will work.

Been fine defensively. Has never been good enough offensively to drive a line and look at who they’ve had next to him every game.

That’d be harsh imo
Yeah I would say so too. But I think your 5 are right. I don’t know who the sixth would be maybe Cole/Juulsen.

Oilers have completely solved our entry on the PP.

They swarm the puck carrier and constantly force turnovers.

The other players need to be in a much better position to receive passes if the Oilers are going to blitz the puck carrier.

Literally any puck pressure on the forecheck and then better play from F2 would vastly improve our play.

Lines not getting caved in and able to tread water in their minutes means a less tired Miller.

Accountability lifts spirits on the team and could give us a boost. Players who get benched might be motivated to come back hard when they're called upon next.

So yes, all those changes matter if players do their jobs.

Are you one of those people who can't enjoy anything and also can't stand others enjoying anything?

Because you certainly are acting like one.
Valky, some posters are just attention seekers who know what buttons to push. Ignoring them is the best antidote.
