Ugh. Wasted a great game by Silovs and a great 3rd period comeback.

Edmonton can't protect a lead and can't take a ton of confidence out of this game.

Pettersson woke up in the last 10 minutes of the 3rd period. Crazy the difference when he's suddenly hustling for pucks.

Suspension of Soucy - as expected - ended up costing us. Juulsen simply cannot be trusted in a playoff game. Should have played Friedman.

Hronek ... man. We know he's hurt but the last few games have been rough as hell. Ditto Cole.

Thought Myers was excellent tonight and our best D after Hughes.

Horrible 4-minute PP killed us. Edmonton has done a great job scouting our zone entries and we just can't get set up. And they pressure the hell out of Pettersson and he fumbles it every time.

Lafferty is providing nothing. Don't know why he got bumped up the roster. Give Hoglander another chance over him at this point.

Garland and Joshua again are the guys that come up big.
Also thought Pettersson had a great last 10 minutes. If he plays like that for the next few games it'll be the reason the canucks win in 6.

The loss is almost a good thing. Roster changes can occur now and we can get Hoglander back in. Soucy is back too. Tocchet needs to get Pettersson going, it’s his job, and he gives him Lafferty.

There’s a point in this timeline where the blame isn’t just on Pettersson, even though he deservedly gets the blame. Tocchet needs to adapt and he’s simply failing.
Hog has been terrible, I guess we can sub him out for Laff because I don’t even know wtf Laff does anymore

Petey was able to keep the puck in the ozone
He also won the faceoff before the tying goal. He was awful the first two periods. 3rd period after the line changes he looked a bit better.

Heartbreaking way to lose. That was the biggest game of the oilers season and we still almost stole it.

Game 5 should be awesome. Team needs to shoot more, oilers goalies are legit awful

He CANNOT wait until we pull the goalie in the third f***ing period before making adjustments like playing Miller less in the rare game where he isn't carrying the team. He has to read the game and how his team is playing.

He's gotten away with it so far but you can see it costing us games in both series.

Yeah. He’s not exactly 100%. But you keep whining about him.
6 days ago: Canucks vs. Oilers: Rick Tocchet insists Elias Pettersson isn't injured

The team isn’t using illness to cover for another injury to Pettersson, he said.

“We don’t lie here,” he said, with emphasis.

Unprompted, Tocchet said he’s aware that there’s been speculation about whether Pettersson is carrying some sort of injury, perhaps to his back or his wrist. But he moved to quash that speculation.

“He’s just a little sick,” he said.

Pettersson, for his part, said he’s feeling fine.

Too close to call. I see no conclusive evidence that it was contacted above his shoulders.

How about we just get the puck out of the zone? Boeser and Zadorov both had bad shifts.

Honestly when a guy with Draisaitl's talent manages to bat the clearance out of mid-air like that it's more a crazy talented play by the other team than it was a bad clear by our team.

And yeah, that's not conclusive. Not gonna argue that too much.
