How are more people not excited by this? When the season is closing, and all the teams are fighting for playoff spots and seeding, the Bills (who have a coach with a sterling record against rookie QBs) get two games that will in all likelihood feature a rookie QB, backed by a rookie head coach. That's not a bad situation.

That's gotta be one of the toughest schedules in the NFL, right? Ravens, Miami x2, Chiefs, SF, Lions, Jacksonville even the Jets will be tough with Rodgers back. Brutal.

Strength of Schedule is meaningless. God is a lie.

1st place teams are always going to have difficult schedules. If anything, our crossover divisions (AFC South and NFC West) aren't as bad as they could be.

I'm half of the opposite opinion. NFC West is probably the hardest of the 4 NFC divisions: one elite team (SF), one solid playoff team (LA). Seattle will be on the fringe again probably, and Arizona might end up there as well with a healthy Murray though they probably fall more in the 7 win range. Meanwhile, you've got the NFC East with 2 bottom feeders (don't see a Giants resurgence happening), NFC North with two bottom feeders (Chicago might be better, but Minnesota is going to nosedive), NFC South is "someone has to win it".

AFC is probably pretty even across the divisions with the exception of the North which is clearly the best, but the other three are probably about the same. South doesn't have the elite team (yet, Houston might be there by season's end), but I think Indy/Jacksonville is probably better than LA/LV/Denver (Tennessee is clearly the worst of the 8 teams though), so that's probably a wash. So avoiding the AFC North was definitely a good thing.

The schedule is brutal (and it was last year too but we went on a miracle run to save it). Josh is otherworldly, but there are new challenges that make extending the run of the last five years uncertain imo. While much needed for the future, it would be surprising (and a major feather in McD's cap) if the roster reset doesn't momentarily interrupt the continuity and overall quality that we've come to expect.

Plus I think the Jets will be really good and Miami is still solid unfortunately. I see us 10-7 and hopefully a wildcard in another very strong AFC. Things look great for the future, but to me this is an iffy year between Josh's first and second windows.

They could regress. I have them at a low of 10 wins. A high of 15. I'm still not worried about the Jets. I spent the last two off-seasons thinking it'd be the year they turn it around, and...well it was the same old Jets.

Honestly, it’s not the opposition that factors into my thoughts with the season. It really just lies with the Bills themselves. Through the years, it’s always been the Bills and in-house situations that holds them back more times than the other teams.

Miami scared me last year because of how slow the defense was and how much off a drop off Hyde/Poyer lost a step physically moreso than Tua and his ability to read our defenses. Team speed was a big question mark vs a lot of teams last year.

The Jets still don’t scare me, though their defense was of high quality, but it was the hero-ball decisions Josh was making that cost us the game.

The only teams that has me raising concerns are Baltimore and 49ers.

But at the end of the day, how healthy we are, will be the biggest factor of the Buffalo success compared to the opposition’s impact, I think more than any other team.

Health and the number one seed.

It's one less game that needs to be played. It's one additional bye week to rest up. It's the lesser opponent after wild-card weekend.

If I weren't at work, I'd do the math, but you have to see at least a 100% improvement in win percentage with that number one seed.
