Thank f***, I hope this league dies and I will be free from this curse.
Probably not in the WNBA broadcasting agreementIf Caitlin Clark's debut is so damn important, why isn't it on ABC then?
They probably lost so no big deal. The Blackhawks were on NBC Sports Chicago 3 the other day because the Bulls and White Sox were also playing. I'm still devastated.
Why is your avatar in the microwave? Do you hate cats?Thank f***, I hope this league dies and I will be free from this curse.

It’s gonna be a bad look for the NHL when Caitlin Clark on ESPN2 trounces the Bruins/Panthers game on ESPN.
We should get the ratings numbers later today. See what the WNBA, NHL, and NBA did in that time slot. IND vs NYK in NBA, BOS vs FLA in NHL and Clark in WNBA debut. So, did the world end?
So, did the world end?
Realistically, the WNBA rookies, it is a super short turnaround from their college season and tournament to the start of their regular season. Barely a month later and they are playing again, following camp and pre-season.Double digit turnovers in Clark's debut?
Yeah, I think this hype will die down soon.
She also had 20 points?Double digit turnovers in Clark's debut?
Yeah, I think this hype will die down soon.
End of the day, it's more the viewers she helps the league bring in than her numbers on the court. Doesn't have to be among the top 5 in the league but needs to be good. She also had 20 points?
Why is it not a good look?WNBA on ESPN2 had more viewers than Bruins/Panthers on ESPN. Not a good look for the NHL.

Sunday’s Panthers-Bruins second round Stanley Cup playoff Game 4 averaged a 1.0 rating and 2.18 million viewers across TNT (0.8, 1.75M) and truTV (0.21, 426K), trailing only Maple Leafs-Bruins Game 7 in the first round (1.6, 3.24M) as the most-watched game of the NHL season thus far.
The Panthers’ win delivered the largest second round playoff audience, excluding game sevens, since 2021. Ratings increased 25% and viewership 40% from Maple Leafs-Panthers in the same year-ago window (0.8, 1.55M).
Caitlin Clark’s regular-season debut with the Indiana Fever against the Connecticut Sun pulled in an average audience of 2.12 million viewers on ESPN2, giving the league its most-watched game since 2001 when NBC featured the Los Angeles Sparks and Houston Comets on Memorial Day.

Nhl is a major league , wnba is a joke league played in mostly empty arenas. .Why is it not a good look?
She's the most hyped 1st overall in pro sports history outside of LeBron James.
Well, take a look at this...seems your concerns and thinking was 100% wrong. Like I said, her debut will crush any NHL playoff game and ESPN would have replaced an NBA playoff game too. TV is about ratings and Clarke has the ratings. Not playoff games though.
Nielsen tallied 2.11 million people who tuned into ESPN2 to watch her debut. A number that doesn't include the amount of people who were watching on Disney+, and a number that amassed the NHL playoffs on ESPN (1.99 million).
Wut?Why is it not a good look?
She's the most hyped 1st overall in pro sports history outside of LeBron James.
These figures do not include any Disney viewers of her debut, not sure how that is added to overall viewership, since local NHL broadcasts are over, we are seeing the ESPN numbers.More people watched (Sunday) Game 4 of Bos-Fla series than watched Caitlin Clark, if that makes you feel better.
