So, I always thought that I came from mostly boring Northern English, and Scottish stock. Turns out that there is a pretty significant branch of the family that came from Switzerland, and can be traced back to 1200. Those Swiss are great record keepers.

I'm kind of pumped. Spetzle, yodeling, Lederhosen...let's go!

I saw you guys got a new flag a while ago. Our provincial flag is from 1660 and looks like this:

This is the original from 1660, still preserved at a museum.

The lion was first used by the duke of Halland and Finland in 1353, Bengt Algotsson, and his signet looked like this

I watched the movie Damsel a couple of days ago, and in the opening sequence the king was sporting this coat of arms. Looks a lot like it, right? I just thought it was funny.

So McD moved out and now Burger King is moving in at the same spot. I got tired of McD a long time ago and haven't eaten there in 10 years or so. Is Burger King any better/worse or just the same crap?

It is worse than McDonalds. Their adds are better, though.

We have a franchise called MAX Burgers over here, they are much better than McD. The place is a little offside for me, so I don't eat there too often. But it is pretty ok for a fast food chain.

I’d rather just eat at an actual restaurant for the price you pay for fast food now, at least here in the states.

BK has the impossible (nonmeat) burger that isn't too bad. So it's normally the fast food place we go to when we (rarely it's not worth the price now) get fast food.

How much is it? The thing about MAX is they make their burgers on order, so no pre-made, old moldy stuff just waiting for you.

I think the impossible patty costs an extra dollar. The wife gets them because they taste like meat but don't upset her stomach like beef does. Red Robin has them too.

TBH price is secondary for us a lot of times due to her dietary restrictions. Just finding places she can eat out at without getting sick is a challenge at times.
