Go Jets Go! :hockey:

As Patrik O'Laine said, @sipowicz and others should note the 5:00pm start time on TSN3...

On my way to Los Angeles for a conference. Missing More Jets hockey as usual.

Hoping for a win to kick off this road trip. Barring a collapse we will finish in one of the top 3 spots in the central. I look at all three slots as interchangeable due to the very solid level of competition.

That being said I like winz

Thanks @macmaroon

I am hoping that Laine recovers well, his latest issues underscore a career that is itself a poster child for unmet expectations, poor bastard.

Ireland is but a hop, skip and a jump from Medieval Norway, Sweden and Denmark, and has been a 1400-year attraction for those with attachment to the pantheon of denizens within Valhalla. For thousands of years Ireland was fiercely defended from invasion by all manner of invasive species - coelacanths, Vikings, Norsemen.

From Britannica online: "The first appearance of the Norsemen on the Irish coast is recorded in 795. Thereafter the Norsemen made frequent plundering raids, sometimes far inland. In 838 they seized and fortified two ports, Annagassan and Dublin, and in the 840s they undertook a series of large-scale invasions in the north of the country."

Fast forward to modern professional hockey.

Norsemen? Medieval Battles control of Ireland? The Jets current road trip is a worthy (if not somewhat tenuous) analogy for the seige of Ohio. We are literally from the land of ice and snow. :)

From the immortal Immigrant Song

We come from the land of the ice and snow
From the midnight sun where the hot springs flow
The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands
To fight the horde, sing and cry
Valhalla, I am coming
On we sweep with threshing oar
Our only goal will be the western shore

Have I sequestered your attention?

Nay did I wonder at the Blue Jacketed swine,
Nor praise the deep vermilion in Bone’s chilled nose;
They were but sweet, but deserved well to whine,
Behold our chilled invasive Jets, no chance to get hosed.
Yet seems its winter continues in the Peg, (no shyte Jack),
Whereon the stars in secret influence comments bled
And in these drama’d days we HF boardsfolk tap and clack.
Heavy with spoils, Jets get thee to Ohio’s cannon’d spread.
The dear repose for they with steady wins attired;
And thus begins a journey in our Tendy duo’s heads,
To blow thy mind, when the popcorn bowl expired:
Brew pour’d heavy with an exuberant splish
Numb-ed any zealous loving pilgrimage to thee,
Yo! Lets pray the Jets defence pulls something close to wish,
Delivering darkness for only squashed jackets to see.
Pump thy buoyancy sacs friends, enter the Houses of the Holy
Smash the home squad properly, with our weaponized Toffoli.

Steve Earle with the Pogues is fookin sweet!
I absolutely loved Ireland when we went a few years ago and on one of our tours the bus driver played Galway girl by Steve Earle and i had him play it 3 more times and the entire bus was singing and clapping to the song and laughing every time i got up to tell the driver to play that one more time.

TSN game this afternoon - whot ho, thus the slippery slope slide into Leaf centric minutiae will be deemphasized. :)

4.5 nanoseconds following the Avs/Oilers match up.

Ron Maclean: OK, the Oilers lost. Kelly, your thoughts?

Kelly Hrudey: GUD GODD ME LUVV LUVVS DE TRAKKING UH DEPOCK BY SANPSONOVV, UND DUH TOB SHULF SHOTZ BE TAYVARUS

Another Irish hottie, this time for the ladies :naughty:

View attachment 837384

EDIT: At least I hope they find this a hottie; if I knew what women liked then my younger years would have been far less lonely
Glad to see they spelled whiskey right for the micks. If you try to know what women like it'll drive you crazy, no 2 are alike.
