One of my teams absolutely ravaged by injuries. 9 players on DL.
Mine?
I have nine players on the DL for an 18 team dynasty, and I just lost Conforto.
At this point I'd prefer if Hoskins spread some of this out over the next three weeks.
I bid aggressively on him to primarily take a gamble that something close to this would happen in the last six weeks of the season, but I think I'll probably try and keep him now. He'll be $7 next year, which is still a bargain, but the tricky thing is that if he's just a good MLB 1B, there's so many to go around that it's not quite worth it. It looks like the power is the real deal, even if he won't hit 60 HRs or something absurd next year.
I feel silly sometimes visiting this thread, as the league I play in is much less complex than most of what gets discussed here. However, I've won three straight matchups and am now a half-game up in the quest for the final playoff spot with two weeks left. So, I'm gonna ask a simple question.
Drop Lucroy for Gomes? Lucroy has had about two useful weeks this year but the position is basically a black hole. Zunino and Suzuki are also available.
Corey Seager picked a terrible time of the season to be kind of hurt but not on the DL. If I make the playoffs next week, I will probably need somebody as backup in case he barely plays, but it's tricky for me to roster another SS.
I will probably try and pick up Brandon Crawford, who has three games early in the week at Coors Field, or I could go for Freddie Galvis, who is slightly better on a point per game basis. My options to drop are basically Robert Stephenson, John Lackey, Jack Flaherty (who I just added), or perhaps Corey Dickerson, since I have Braun, Hoskins, Marte, Benintendi all as LFs, and only two U spots anyways. He's tapered off a little bit in recent weeks anyways, and I prefer to have as many pitcher start possibilities as possible, so I am actually leaning towards Dickerson right now, but curious for advice. If I drop a pitcher, I think it would be Stephenson, who has to face the Brewers and is a constant danger for HRs playing in Cincy. But he also misses a lot of bats and has legit upside, so I don't like ditching him now that he's in a groove.
I don't think just riding it out with Seager is a possibility, though maybe he'll just miss Monday's game or something and I'm overthinking it.
James McCann worth a pick up? I have Schwarber as my catcher and have held on to him much too long.. basically wondering if McCann is everyday C. There's a 3 way tie for last playoff spot in my league. I'm playing the top team, another guy is playing 2nd place and the last place team... need al the help I can get.
Might also be dropping Sanchez and Harper since they can't really help me this week
Tootoo Train's league... I am fighting for a playoff spot after starting out 7-1. I am 5-8 in my last 13 weeks. And I get to face the team in first this week. Lovely.
HF Mods league... I finished with an .813 winning percentage. If I don't win that league, something is wrong.
