We're Touched
Neuvirthiswhere?
Brain fart on my part. No idea why I put Grubauer there instead of Neuvirth.
Neuvirthiswhere?
Forsberg-Hendricks-Kuznetsov
Ovechkin-Hendricks-Galiev
Laich-Hendricks-Wilson
Barber-Backstrom-Mitchell
Ribeiro
Hamill
Alzner-Carlson
Orlov-Kundratek
Schultz-Schultz
Poti
Holtby
Grubauer
While we're talking about lineups, how do you guys think the shootout lineup will look? Here's the stats on our top guys by percentage:
Hendricks: 8/12, 66.7%
Wolski: 25/58, 43.1%
Ribeiro: 21/55, 38.2%
Backstrom: 8/25, 32.0%
Ovechkin: 20/65, 30.8%
Might we actually see a Caps shootout lineup without Ovechkin or Backstrom? I'd find that weirdly hilarious.
That's the exact lineup I put together.Assuming Nicky is healthy and Orlov isn't.
Ovechkin - Backstrom - Johansson
Wolski/Perreault - Ribeiro - Brouwer
Chimera - Laich - Ward
Hendricks - Beagle - Crabb
Perreault/Wolski
Alzner - Carlson
Hamrlik - Green
Schultz - Hillen
Erskine, Poti
Holtby
Neuvirth
IR: Orlov
Something like that:
Ovechkin-Backstrom-Johansson
Wolski-Ribeiro-Perrault
Chimera-Laich-Brouwer
Hendricks-Beagle-Ward
Crabb
Green-Hamrlik
Alzner-Carlson
Orlov-Poti
Schultz
Erskine, Hillen, Kundratek
Holtby
Neuvy

I am bullish on WW. No expectations, he has no pressure, we have nothing to lose. He has dedicated himself to stay in shape, I think he will be hungry. How hard is it to put a stick on the ice and skate to the net for Ribs anyways?
Poti will surprise. If you think hockey players forget how to play hockey, I laugh.
.
i dont think Wolski makes the team, thats just me.
fantasy sports alarm going off here
btw....that 2nd line of wolski-ribeiro-perreault is a hoot. there is not a chance in hell those three get on the ice together. if i just happens as a result of two passing lines during a change, a coach should be fired.
I think we will see (similar to the lines Mystlife posted and if both Orlov and Backstrom are healthy):
Ovechkin - Backstrom - Johansson
Laich - Ribiero - Brouwer
Chimera - Beagle - Ward
Hendricks - Perrault - Crabb
Wolski (I think he'll be a top-6 injury fill in at best)
Alzner - Carlson
Hammer - Green
Schultz - Orlov
Poti (wild card here, but I'm not going to count on him to be in playing shape), Erskine
Holtby
Neuvirth
I have no idea what the quality of play is like over there. Did he fare well?Yes, in Poland

I'd be bullish on Wolski too but then I remember that he sucks donkey.
I agree on Poti.
Thank you kind sir. I couldn't find any up-to-date stats via a quick Google search. Based on what I did see, it looks like his production rate put him towards the top of his club.http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=8832
Looks like he played a total of 12 games
6 goals | 7 assists | +8
With the news that Backstrom is visiting a specialist for his "dizziness", what would the lines look like with Nick removed? Do they move Johansson back to C?
Forsberg-Hendricks-Kuznetsov
Ovechkin-Hendricks-Galiev
Laich-Hendricks-Wilson
Barber-Backstrom-Mitchell
Ribeiro
Hamill
Alzner-Carlson
Orlov-Kundratek
Schultz-Schultz
Poti
Holtby

If our scoring lines are producing, it does not really matter which wing most goals are coming from. Furthermore, Caps will be thin at scoring at whichever wing Ovi doesn't play. Since we already have two serviceable top 6 RWs in Johansson and Brouwer, I don't see any advantage of moving Ovi from his preferred wing, especially considering he's never had the same success playing on the right side.Johansson Backstrom Ovi
Wolski Ribeiro Brouwer
Chimera Laich Crabb
Hendricks Beagle Ward/MP85
Alzner Carlson
Hamrlik Green
Erskine/Poti/Schultz Orlov/Hillen
Schilling

Oates realizes our team is very very thin at scoring RW and does the obvious, move Ovi to RW. Its a no brainer to me.
Ward will resort back to regular season Ward. Crabb will easily pass him on the RW depth chart, on effort alone.

MJ is meh at RW and remains soft along the boards. He needs to be at LW so at least he can protect the puck with his body driving his wing, until he bulks up or graduates to center next year.
