I would think either term, or, if a trade request has been made, to buy time so the Wild can explore trade options and then sign before training camp/regular season if nothing has been made. Addison's camp doesn't really lose anything by signing at the latest possible moment, why sign now instead of September. Almost like there's already a partially-executed contract on their desk atm.He could leave it up to the last moment before the season starts, but that would be cutting off his nose to spite his face. His best move would be to sign for one year, go to camp on time, have a good year, then revisit this next year when he has more leverage.
Maybe they are fighting over term, and BG wants to sign him for an extra year? Otherwise, holding out makes no sense to me, from Addison's POV.
