The Avs were never going to move off Georgiev as the starter. You can say that’s a poor decision but arguing they should have gotten a “star” goalie is a moot point because it was never under consideration.

They needed an actual NHL level backup and got one. This is all the Avs are asking for out of Allen.

Georgiev needs rest…the most games and most minutes of any goalie in the NHL the last two seasons.
