Which forward under 25 years old would your team trade for the Habs' 1st pick (Winipeg's) who will be between 24-27 + one of these defenders (Harris, Struble or Kovacevic)?
Ok for Ylonen and a 7 round pickMackenzie Entwistle and Reese Johnson
Boom trade call incoming
SureOk for Ylonen and a 7 round pick
What under 25 year old forwards do you expect to get offered?Expect to get garbage suggestions.
Better off with waiver wire picks.Ok for Ylonen and a 7 round pick
A guy like Newhook. Cause thats the value he's sendingSure

Very, very doubtful Utah even entertains a call on Guenther.Would love Dylan Guenther but it'll take a hell of a lot more than Winnipegs 1st, would add one of our surplus of young D prospects on top of that 1st and it's probably still not enough.
Nolan Foote's RFA rights
for
Kovacevic
Foote is going to be an NHL player, He just isn't going to hit the heights that people thought he was, Habs get a young 4th/3rd LW that will probably sign a league minimum contract. Montreal's LW depth isn't that great so I thought he would be a fit for them.
Devils get 3rd pairing D to replace smith for a year on a very cheap contract.
I knowExpect to get garbage suggestions.
He definitely has the hockey IQ, Is a good forechecker along the board and has an above average shot. His biggest downside is that he is an average skater, If I had to compare him I would say Anderson with a better shot but way slower skater. Not a bad offer, habs need actual bottom 6 players and have a surplus in D
I could add the Habs' second draft pick(around #58).Would love Dylan Guenther but it'll take a hell of a lot more than Winnipegs 1st, would add one of our surplus of young D prospects on top of that 1st and it's probably still not enough.

I prefer to keep Kovacevic.Nolan Foote's RFA rights

Yeah a Guenther trade is more likely Guenther+2nd for 5th overall than it is for a quantity package.Probably still not enough, Guenther's value is likely closer to the 5th OA rather than the ~27th + one of our good D prospects
You are probably right but i would not give our 5 th OA for hm.Probably still not enough, Guenther's value is likely closer to the 5th OA rather than the ~27th + one of our good D prospects
to get a 3rd/4th round pick at the deadline?I prefer to keep Kovacevic.
Or resign him to minimum wage. He is capable of being a sixth or seven defender, makes a good first pass, is physical so if I trade him, it is for a player that I find interesting and Foote is not.to get a 3rd/4th round pick at the deadline?
I would without hesitationYou are probably right but i would not give our 5 th OA for hm.
Kakko, Tomasino, Holtz, Krebs, are the kind of guy I expect.Kaliyev and Kakko would be on my radar for 24th and Struble/Harris/Barron
Yes, i know, Kakko is worth 4 1sts....
Depth D for depth F, it could make sense.Nolan Foote's RFA rights

Don't forget we have our own 3rd and 4th liners for next year and on the horizon. Someone like X junior could be a year away from the ideal 4th or even 3rd liner.Kakko, Tomasino, Holtz, Krebs, are the kind of guy I expect.
All guys fans won't suggest since they think their teams should move "deadwood" veterans to give the kids a chance.
