New discoveries in Peru of Perucetus colossus fossils lead expert to believe they were as much as 2x the weight of the blue whale which is the current heavy weight champ. One estimate has them being between 187,000 and 660,000 lbs!!!
“Perucetus could have weighed almost two blue whales, three Argentinosaurs (a giant sauropod dinosaur), over 30 African bush elephants and as many as 5,000 people,” Bianucci said via email.
