Are all Montreal fans this bad? A part of me feels like they are trolling us from their main board.
Keep in mind as well, those of us who have engaged with Anaheim fans about this, pretty much get to understand their POV (ie, there's no reason to think he'll be moved, and if ever he is moved, the price will be very steep, as it should be for a core piece from any team).... and after that, we often stay away from these threads afterwards, since really all they do is add fake smoke to a non-existent fire (ie, make people think Zegras is available and Anaheim fans are anxious to move him).

I do get how frustrating it has to be. I spend a lot of time on Twitter reminding Habs fans we won't get a young, high end talent for a couple of seconds and whichever young D they dislike.

I don't think this is accurate. I think the Ducks are open to a Zegras trade but more of a 1/1 trade where they add to another area of team need but someone with Zegras's pedigree and already in the NHL.

Not a fan opinion. From P Lebrun who is respected. I think this is the accurate description of the situation.

The Ducks have listened on Trevor Zegras. My understanding is they haven't phoned a single team and brought up his name,” LeBrun told TSN's Jay Onrait. “This is other teams because it's been out there, picking up the phone and saying 'What's going on here? ' and the Ducks haven't hung up.”
interesting that you ignored the actual important part of that quote. That Pat hasn't phoned a single team and brought him up. Of course he listens to offers, that's what a GM does. But I guess ignoring the actual relevant part of that quote wouldn't help you push the narrative you want to push.

Who said I ignored that? :loony:

You're drawing incorrect conclusions and trying to use it against me. You don't have good comprehension skills because you are looking for a fight. Don't worry, you are not alone.

I agree with everything Lebrun said. EVERYTHING. Not sure how else you can comprehend it any other way. I pushed the Lebrun narrative bud.

Yet you bold the only part of the quote suggesting Ducks might trade zegras. You’re still trying to push the narrative theyll trade him.

If not Jiricek, one of the top young D prospects in the world, then what?
Not Z. Now if Columbus wants to talk about Anaheim's logjam of LHD(+) then I'm sure PV would be happy to take the call & see if something could be worked out.

Got something of that of their own. One big reason I'm baffled by anyone who projects Columbus to take a LHD with their top-6 pick this year. But no, Jiricek would not be on the table, nor should Columbus be sniffing around Zegras anyway when they've already got extremely similar profile players in Kent Johnson and Johnny Gaudreau on the roster.

Good enough. I really had no idea of CBJ's requirements & the Ducks will have too many good LHD prospects/players fairly soon, 'someone' will most likely be traded reasonably soon. Thus the 'PV would be willing to talk...'

Hes that guy you see at the rink practicing his stick skills all the time and pulling fancy moves in practices and completely ignoring the rest of skill set for a hockey player. All flash no sizzle. All the kids like him because they don't know any better.
I hate agreeing with Oiler fans, but you're dead right. He's Mike Ribeiro.

This is why coaches get hired, to help kids make better players of themselves.
Most pros now, all have to learn te 200ft game. Very few of them come out from Jr knowing how to play the 200ft game.

Montreal starts the conversation offering 1(26) + Barron + washed up Gallagher or Dvorak

Verbeek counters with 1(5) + Beck + Xhekaj or Mailloux

A deal only gets done for something around Reinbacher + 1(26) or Beck, and maybe we eat Dvorak's contract.

Canadians get a proven player (2 season with 60+ pts on a trash team) on a short and cheap contract for prospect that fits what Verbeek wants for the blueline but isn't ready next year and didn't develop as expected + pick or more ready two-way forward in Beck for "insurance."

Canadians walk away from draft with Zegras + top 5 pick and expedites their rebuild. Ducks reset another year and gets Verbeek's type of player. As a Duck fan, I wouldn't want this as this would keep us in the gutter another year. Canadians would win the trade, but Verbeek could offset this with a big UFA signing that could work out for the best for both teams. Question is: what player wants to come to Anaheim, other than for a major overpay?

Nothing against Zegras but MTL are not trading their number 1 prospect for him.

I think this will be the main issue with a zegras trade…. Most teams prob interested in a bargain…. But Anaheim shouldn’t move him for a bargain price
Yeah, he's not going anywhere unless there is an overpayment. Montreal fans think they could get him without sacrificing a single beloved prospect. Why would Verbeek want to offer Zegras for a bad contract like Dvorak or Gallegher and a bevy of C level prospects when we already have a ton of prospects. We are looking for quality not quantity.

If Demidov is not available when Montreal picks, I wouldn't be surprised to see Zegras for 5OA.
Its highly likely that both Lindstrom and Demidov are gone before the 5th... They can go ahead and trade down or go off board and draft Igilna and keep rebuilding for more 3 years.

We have the 3rd, so if we did get the 5th and Demidov and lindstrom are gone before 5…. It’s likely we took one at 3

Dreger said Montreal is interested but not overpaying. Not eager in other words
Dreger was on 690 today. Said trade talks have picked up again on Zegras going to Montreal
Did he say " actual talks have picked up " or something along the lines of he wouldn't be surprised if trade talks picked up etc. Like 98% of the time he is reporting nothing but he words it in a way you think it's actual news and insider information. Have never liked Dreger.
