"For the latter half of the 20th century, the Canadians maintained the DEW Line for NATO and the United States - a line of northern radar stations that served as the "D.istant E.arly W.arning" barrier against encroachments by the USSR. We might say that the theme for tonight's game as the Wings host the Montreal Canadiens is a "DO" line, as each team looks for some significant contributions in scoring, defense, or grinding from one or more of their lines. After all, we must remember that it was the great Captain Kirk, played by the great Canadian William Shatner, who said the line "We learn by DOing.""

"If you've ever driven through the lovely state of Ohio, you've noticed that the landscape there is flat. If you've watched the last few Red Wings games, you've noticed that their power play is flat. The Wings can't make mountains but they can perhaps make a mountain of effort to sharpen up their 5 on 4 play, because if they don't they might end up wearing a jacket tonight courtesy of the visitors from Columbus that's not blue, but is instead straight."

Here's something incredibly egotistical:

So my original PK spreadsheet is on a crashed HDD I need to recover, so I decided to do a new one. Better, stronger, faster.

I've gone through all the GDTs since I started doing this silly litle thing and grabbed all my PKs. And put them into a spreadsheet.

Well, once you have them, you have to count them, right? And then the "likes"? And then... graph it, right? Isn't that what sane people do?

Anyway, I'll add the charts in the next 3 posts. Thanks everyone (especially Bench!) for your patience and generosity in letting me continue to be a smartass.
