We have Dekeyser, Mrazek, Sheahan, Pulkkinen, Marchenko coming up as expiring RFA's this summer.

What do you all estimate they will get? Mrazek and Dekeyser are looking at substantial raises, no?

DeKeyser 7 years $4.25M per the same deal as Abdelkder.
Mrazek 2 years $4.5M per Would be my guess.
Sheahan 2 years $2.5M per Most likely
Pulkkinen 2 years $900,000 per similar to what Jurco signed for.
Marchenko 2 years $900,000 per The Jurco and Pulkkinen deal.

What has DeKeyser done to earn more than Josi, Maatta, etc.

I think a flat $4M or even a little under would be more appropriate based on comparables

DeKeyser 4.5M (long-term, 5-6 years)
Mrazek 3.75M (short-term, 2-3 years)
Marchenko 2.25 (short-term, 2-3 years)
Sheahan 1.8M (middle-term, 3-4 years)
Pulkkinen 1.3M (short-term, 1-2 years)

Also, UFA Miller will very probably be extended, 1 year, 1.0M.

Those numbers leave us ~900k under the cap, if it stays same (my estimation ~71.5 million, 100k marginal raise).

Franzen LTIR in full use already.

leverage.

he has less RFA years left. määttä, based on points traditional stats like ice time and points, hasn't been significantly ahead of dekeyser.

josi had 34 points in like 100 career games when he signed that contract.

but i think something like brodie contract is fair. he does have more RFA years than him too but brodie had him beat in some other areas.

or chris tanev. tanev has less points but is ahead of him defensively by decent margin.

Dekeyser - 5 years, 4.4M
Mrazek - 2 years, 4.25M
Sheahan - 2 years , 3M
Pulkkinen - 1 year, 950k
Marchenko - 2 years, 1.8M

Would be my guess. Mrazek might be higher, he's going to get paid soon.

Sheahan @ $3M. $1.5M for putting up 4th line points, $1.5M for being a 6'3" center.

Josi signed that contract before he broke out and Maatta probably took term over salary because of his injury history.

I don't think DD is worth anything more than $4.5M. I don't trust his potential to grow or his offense.

Can you write out a more detailed estimation? Is it with a full 23 man roaster?

I used capfriendly:
14 players under contract next year: 51.456M
+Buried: Kindl, 1.45M
(+)LTIR: Franzen 3,955M
+Buy out: Weiss, 1.067M
Total (minus Franzen): 53,973M + RFA's: ~14M = 67.973M

Cap space: ~3.5M

XO: 0.715M
Nosek?: ~0.8M
Forward: ?
D-man: ?

I kinda think Mrazek will be cheaper than people predict. Definitely closer to 3 million than 5 million, but probably only 2 years or 3 at most. As good as he is, he is still a kid with not even a full season as a #1 under his belt.

Dekeyser 4.5 seems reasonable. Maatta is a good comparable and I think his injuries cost him about 0.5-1.0M on his contract.

Sheahan will only get a minimal raise, unfortunately for him it's not a good to produce career-worst numbers in a contract year.

Yep. Hard to find comparables.

Tuukka Rask's bridge deal was 3.5M before his MEGA-contract.

3 years would be ideal, so it matches with Howard contract, if we can't get him anywhere.

My guess is something like this.

Mrazek 2 years - 3.5 Million
Dekeyser 4 years - 4.75 Million
Sheahan 3 years - 1.9 Million
Pulkkinen 2 years - 900k
Marchenko 3 years - 1 million

Yes, 23-man roster, with Kindl and Franzen (25 players), who are outside the cap.

1. Datsyuk 7.5M
2. Zetterberg 6.1M
3. Nyquist 4.75M
4. Abdelkader 4.25M
5. Tatar 2.75M
6. Sheahan (estimated 1.8M)
7. Larkin 1.275M (925k ELC + 350k full performance bonuces transferred from 2015-16 season)
8. Pulkkinen (estimated 1.2M)
9. Miller (estimated UFA 1.0M)
10. Jurco 900k
11. Glendening 628k
12. Athanasiou 628k
13. Nosek (estimated 600k)
14. Callahan (estimated 600k)

1. Green 6.0M
2. Kronwall 4.75M
3. DeKeyser (estimated 4.5M)
4. Ericsson 4.25M
5. Smith 2.75M
6. Marchenko (estimated 2.25M)
7. Ouellet 715k

1. Howard 5.3M
2. Mrazek 3.75M

Kindl 1.45M (950k relief when burned in waivers)
Weiss 1.067 (buy-out)
Also:
CONTRACT NOTE: Brad Richards bonus structure: $250,000 if Det wins 1st round, additional $750,000 if win second round.
These will transfer to season 2016-17 cap if completed.

Without any Richards bonuses:
Total ~70.76 million
Salary Cap (estimation) ~71.5M
Cap space: ~740k

Franzen 3.95 LTIR

With Franzen: ~74.7M

If we want MORE cap room, something has to be done for the Howard contract. Buyout would open 3.9M more space (4.6M total space), but some part of it would go for another backup goalie.

Are you sure bonuses affect next years cap?

According to capfriendly.com they get paid out in the season they were achieved, but teams are allowed to exceed the salary cap (to the 7.5% limit) in order to pay them.

If that's the case then Larkin's bonuses wouldn't affect next years cap at all nor would Richards if he gets them.

Dekeyser 3.75M (2years) - I think he goes for a shorter contract to get a big payoff later.
Mrazek 3M (2years) - Really hard to know what he could get
Sheahan 1.7M (2years) - I do not think Sheahan will get much.
Pulkkinen 0.75M (2 years)
Marchenko 0.75M (2 years)

I think the last 3 players will be "hard negotiated" due to cap problems

This is probably the best prediction to me, except that I can't see Sheahan and Marchenko taking a 3 year deal at those rates. They'll want to leave the door open for big improvement after year 2.

Not sure why anyone would think Marchy has leverage to ask for more than $1.5M at most or Sheahan more than about $2.25M short term.

You're probably right i think we could see some shorter deals, Especially not knowing what the cap situation might be down the line i could see Holland giving out cheaper shorter deals. They all pretty much look right to me as well.
