So God said today "let there be thunder"!

I was on way to the store today n thought hmmm...you sound awfully throaty today. Got home n crawled around and sure enough found a leak. Right where the two manifold down pipes meet, to change into 1 pipe.
If my guy cant flub some weld onto rusty pipe im gonna be screwed for 2 cats and everything else back to the manifolds. O2 sensors included i assume.

Still i shant complain. Exhausts arent designed for 20 years....plus it sounds cool

Added on an oil change and rear diff service. I know the fill plug is stripped (such a stupid design) or else id have done it myself years ago

No chance this all gets done on a Friday afternoon. Shop is only 5 minutes away so no big deal

Why is seems it's always dran plugs that get stripped? I've not done it but all my bike groups I read tons of them, but bikes have aluminum cases.

Over tightening. Some just ugga dugga the plug and don't bother reading the torque specs.

Ford went to a plastic pan and plug and I don't think it was well received and a few years later they were back to the traditional drain plugs.

Didn't help the plastic pans were also not applied correctly, causing quite a few to leak and the repair process was a pita.

$400 for the exhaust work including oil change today. Im happy with that and will be picking him up in an hour.

I asked him about the diff service and he said $150...then i told him about the fill plug being stripped and he said hes seen it 1000 times lol. But its Friday so ill schedule that for next week

Got the truck back. He's so quiet again, I almost miss the noise lol.

It dawned on me today that I'm running a 24 year old truck as a daily. Yet he brings me peace of mind everyday. Theres something to be said for a vehicle that gives you confidence in any situation. Rain, snow, mud he doesnt care

Two of my bikes are newer then all my 4 wheel vehicles, my jeep being the newest is 2010 ,big white is an 03 , sweet Nissan is 93.,old rigs are the way to go.

Actually big white is an 05 , bought brand new for 34k.. they like 70k new now. Paid $500 for the sweet nissan 10 years ago , dude gave my the title because I didn't have 500 in my pocket but we friends , won 1,300$ at the casino that night so it was kinda free.Thanks bronco Billy's ( casino) for the sweet nissan.

The carbon area is black from the factory but I used carbon vinyl cause I'm cool like that lol. And the sweet nissan came with those 4 brand new BF Goodrich tires..I stole it, dude thought there was something wrong cause sometimes while turning it made a clunk noise , when I bought it first thing was 4 new shocks. Well the clunk was because I needed a breaker bar to remove the old ones put on with an impact gun. Clunk went away.

If you see the little wing on the rear , I wrapped that in carbon also and added a Nissmo ( Nissan racing division) sticker because all $500 sweet Nissan are obviously full race lol..

Taking the boy to the hospital on Wednesday. Hes bleeding coolant and I think he has pneumonia, cause there's no heat.

I complained about no heat last winter but it wasnt leaking, so I'm not sure if related or not. Its probably my fault and due to my driving habits as I rarely drive far enough to even get up to operating temp. So fingers crossed for a cracked hose and an air bubble somewhere

OOOOPHH!! $700. Water pump, serpentine belt, something about the thermo housing and all the coolant n labor. And thats the cash price... would have been $836 with taxes

This was on your truck? likely double on a more modern car. I’d say all things considered, you got lucky compared to what could have been the main problem there.

truthfully, it's not lol. That's not a bad thing though! As proven by your comparatively inexpensive repairs.

The last water pump scare I had was on a 97 Cadillac, yes a Northstar. Turned out to just be a flange/hose. Shop guy told me before he started that it was likely to be a little over a grand. Called me later that day and said "car's done, just a hose. Call it a hundred bucks"

Lol i was hoping for the $100 job. Just picked it up and sitting in the driveway with a beer. The price on heat cant be measured.. this is awesome!

Also is it weird that with the new belt I felt like things were "tighter". Motor just seemed a bit more crisp, in a good way, if that makes sense

I don't totally understand how that's possible, but google tells me it is. If you felt it made the difference then that's worth much more than my uneducated ass saying it isn't possible, as I sit at my desk hundreds of miles away lol
