The difference between this team and the teams you reference is that they had better hockey players. Not more heart or grind or grit or tooth removing or facepunching. This team plays plenty hard. They aren't as good at hockey. Which is what wins hockey games.

By the way, the Preds lead the league in hits per game by a wide margin.
