2 Minute Minor
Hi Keeba!
It's reevaluate after 3 weeks. Could mean it's too swollen now and they can't do necessary tests until it down. If we find out it's worse in three weeks and he is out for the whole year then we don't have a chance in the playoffs without him.
If that's the case (worst case scenario), then get what you can for backes at the deadline while you can
No, they can assess for ligament damage, etc, within a day or two regardless of the immediate swelling. I'd wager he's already had an MRI by now.
I wasn't a fan of the hit, but didn't think it was malicious. I thought he'd missed the knee, but I guess not.
Assuming Pietro is out less than a month, I think this will be good for the team. A chance for Parayko to play with more responsibility and no safety net of Pietro. Also, Shattenkirk will need to step up.
I have the impression the Blues are taking extra precaution and extra time with injured players. The playoff race position gives them the luxury to not worry about it. The team depth also affords the Blues the ability to give Pietro an extra bit of time so that he won't be at partial strength when he comes back. As long as guys are healthy going into the playoffs, I don't really mind these little injuries that come along. Its good for younger players to realize they can perform in bigger roles, too.
Seems like every freaking game vs the Wild results in a Blues player getting injured on an iffy hit. But if you ask their fans, its the Blues who are thugs.
