Then woof
His top speed in the KHL would rank around the 97th percentile versus NHL EDGE data (pretty much in line with Bobby McMann's max). He's 4th among KHL forwards in hits.
Might just be the camera distance?

This was a career year for him. Hes never been much of a goal scorer until this year.not saying he won’t be but it’s a safer bet that he’s a bottom 6 guy for usNow would you go Barzal-Horvat-Tsyplakov with Kovalchuk near the dot for the one time option on the Powerplay next season?
Brandon Davidson and Kevin Czuczman are still playing. I vote for Czuczman because of Butch and the name factor alone. He reminds me of Nelson in his scoring highlights. Really calm and a deceiving shot
We signed him, a goalie, who’s the dman we’re interested in overseas again?
Good competition for camp already
Hell no...going with an all Russian Line....Varly is coming out of net to play wing....that is why we got HogbergA taller Russian to replace Iskhakov when he returns home.
IMO he's a bottom sixer who makes it. I hope he performs well in the pre-seasonI predict he makes the team out of camp.

Hopefully Lou will be focusing on acquisitions for the top 6 and defense. If Tsy is a planned replacement for Martin or Clutter and has a decent camp, I'm all in.A little too early to tell about that given we don't know who else is going to be resigned and/or added. Maybe Tsyplakov makes the team because Lou doesn't resign anyone else and there are no other options - And that would not be good.
OTOH maybe Tsyplakov plays very well and beats out a handful of other Lou additions and that would be very positive.
Just too early.
Yep. And that should be really exciting for every Isles fan. Perhaps the days of overspending on average and below average bottom 6 forwards is over. Our bottom 6 is putrid in terms of actual value to cap hit. They need more signings like this and for them to actually work. Seems destined for bottom six player with a scoring touch best case scenario.
My Butch Goring bobble head has more hockey sense than Wahlstrom has shown so far, I was one who thought he was going to take a big step forward this year.Have to see how his skating looks on the smaller ice with quicker decisions. His shot alone should make him a Wahlstrom replacement, if he has more hockey sense.
I wonder if the 1 mil in (attainable or not ? ) bonus put the isles ahead of other teams
Maxim Tsyplakov signed a 1 year, $1,950,000 contract with the New York Islanders on May 16, 2024. The contract has a cap hit of $950,000.
thats how i feel. Very low risk.Never bad to have pro depth. I have low expectations for these Europe signings but they’re low risk so why not take a shot.
