So, yea, it's not stand alone and weaves it's way throughout the game once you open it, thanks!
Well I don't know if that's strictly accurate. It's it's own massive quest line that's fairly disconnected from the main story outside of some characters popping in here and there. The new DLC characters don't relate to the existing ones and don't really interact with you after the quest line ends unless you opt in for the DLC ending.

But you can stop playing the DLC quests and do the base game stuff at your discretion. The DLC happens before any of the 8 or so main game endings.

Total. I cleared everything on the map in the last playthrough, do each ending once and that took 80-100 hours I'd guess.
I beat everything a year or so ago (maybe version 1.5?). Recently restarted with the Phantom of Liberty DLC, started from scratch with a new background. I don't love the new skill tree, but I got used to it. Otherwise the game is even better than when I completed it last.

They definitely over promised and under-delivered, but this version of the game is outstanding and moving up my all-time list. The gun play is so satisfying, the builds can be diverse, the characters/stories/quests are great, the open world is the best I've ever experienced... glad they kept up with it.

Makes me hopeful the sequel can be outstanding. Just don't overpromise again.

Why did you do the whole thing for all the endings?

Once Nocturne Op55N17 pops up in the journal, finish every gig and side job on the map, make a save, then reload from that point once you complete an ending.

The fact that this game runs in a playable state on the Steam Deck is unbelievable lol.

Great game. Would be considered one of the best of all time if it didn't take them 3 years post launch to make it elite.

Or if they made a ton of promises they didn't deliver on. They added some of that stuff in after the fact but a lot of the early promises were still let go.

Still an outstanding single player game, especially after Phantom Liberty.

Tbh I don’t really get people that say it’s a different game. It feels like the same game to me and I played it a month or so after release. I think the issue most people had is 1. It was buggy on console, and 2. It was also buggy on PC if you used a hard drive. The LOD streaming was extremely aggressive and most hard drives couldn’t keep up and it cause glaring graphical issues and oftentimes actual glitches. Most glitches on PC (and tbh probably on consoles) are from this issue of streaming off of hard drives.

I beat it on hard drive on PC and while i can say it was the most buggy game I’ve ever played, I feel it’s still the same game overall now.

Yeah I'm playing this game again now and I don't get the whole "they fixed the game" angle either. I like the new skill tree and the visual upgrades on PC are obviously transformative but aside from that it's pretty much the same game that I enjoyed at launch. Maybe the last gen console versions got way better?

The AI and skills were both completely changed, those are massive changes

Not having the anxiety of "is it about to crash? Shit, I gotta save" every five minutes lends itself to a better experience
Yea like that’s what is insane to me. It went from a crashing mess to me being able to play it without crashes on a handheld at a generally stable 35 fps.
