The final matchweek! I've included a little blurb about each group and what is at stake below.
Group A
Current Standings: Bayern (13), Copenhagen (5), Galatasaray (5), Man United (4)
Games: Copenhagen-Galatasaray; Manchester United-Bayern Munich
Narrative: A lot left to play for here. Bayern is in and has won the group handily. They are coming off a heavy defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt and have a big match next weekend against Stuttgart. As such, they may rest their starters in Manchester, which is good news for the home side, who need a win to have any hope of continuing in the Champions League. However, even with a win, they will need help, as any winner in Copenhagen will stay above United in the table. However, a draw in Copenhagen would mean that United failing to win would knock them out of Europe altogether. United can also hope to finish third with a win in Manchester and a win by either team in Copenhagen OR a draw in Manchester and a win by either team in Copenhagen.
Group B
Current Standings: Arsenal (12), PSV (8), Lens (5), Sevilla (2)
Games: PSV-Arsenal; Lens-Sevilla
Narrative: This group is nearly all done. Arsenal won the league, PSV finished second. All that's left is who finishes 3rd. Sevilla needs to win to go to their favored competition, Europa League. Anything else, and Lens is through.
Group C
Current Standings: Real Madrid (15), Napoli (7), Braga (4), Union Berlin (2)
Games: Union Berlin-Real Madrid; Napoli-Braga
Narrative: Real Madrid has won the group stage. Braga, with an upset in Italy, could finish second if they win by two or more goals. Meanwhile, a Braga loss opens the door for Union Berlin to remain in Europe - any other result would knock out the Germans, who may be facing a rotated Real Madrid side at home.
Group D
Current Standings: Real Sociedad (11), Inter (11), RB Salzburg (4), Benfica (1)
Games: Inter-Real Sociedad, RB Salzburg-Benfica
Narrative: Inter needs to win to top the group. Any result for Sociedad allows them to top the group. Benfica finishes third if they win by two or more goals.
Group E
Current Standings: Atletico (11), Lazio (10), Feyenoord (6), Celtic (1)
Games: Atletico Madrid-Lazio, Celtic-Feyenoord
Narrative: Straightforward here. If Atleti get any result at home, they top the group. If Lazio wins, they top the group. Meanwhile, Feyenoord goes to Europa and Celtic goes home.
Group F
Current Standings: Dortmund (10), PSG (7), Newcastle (5), Milan (5)
Games: Dortmund-PSG, Newcastle-Milan
Narrative: A lot left to play for here. Dortmund has guaranteed its spot in the Round of 16. However, a loss to PSG will see PSG top the group. A draw does not guarantee PSG a spot in the Round of 16. If Newcastle wins at home, any result by Dortmund will see Newcastle leapfrog PSG into second. However, PSG holds the tiebreaker against Milan. For Milan to go through, then, they will need to beat Newcastle at St. James's Park and have PSG lose in Dortmund. The battle for third is intriguing as well. A PSG loss and any win in Newcastle has PSG in third, as does a PSG draw and a Newcastle win. A PSG draw and a Milan win has Milan in third. Meanwhile, a draw in Newcastle would send Newcastle to Europa.
Group G
Current Standings: Man City (15), RB Leipzig (9), Young Boys (4), Crvena zvezda (1)
Games: Leipzig-Young Boys, Crvena zvezda-City
Narrative: There isn't one. The standings you see are the standings you get.
Group H
Current Standings: Barcelona (12), Porto (9), Shakhtar (9), Antwerp (0)
Games: Antwerp-Barcelona, Porto-Shakhtar
Narrative: Barcelona is through, Antwerp is eliminated. Barcelona is the group winner unless they lose in Belgium and Shakhtar wins in Portugal and those results combine to overturn a 7 goal differential. Shakhtar goes through with a win. Porto goes through with any other result. The other finishes third.
