It's still kickin'. There is basically nothing at all to discuss, neither team nor league wide, so it's certainly quieter than normal.I think STLtoday is culling their forums or at least those are the rumors. This one still somewhat popular? Looking a little dead but it is the offseason..

Its an addiction. No one bets that much money on anything that isn't an addict. There is still a surge of adrenaline/endorphines/whatever with the outcomes.Phil Mickelson has allegedly lost over 100 million dollars betting on sports, which is whatever. I don’t care what you do with your money. My question is what is the excitement of gambling if you’re already insanely wealthy? I get the average person laying down a wager and celebrating when their parlay hits with a steak dinner or something. I don’t understand how someone could be excited about winning money when they probably have more than they’ll ever be able to spend in the remainder of their lifetime. It just doesn’t make any sense to me.
Fair enough. I guess addictions in general don’t make much sense to those not experiencing it. I just can’t wrap my head around it.Its an addiction. No one bets that much money on anything that isn't an addict. There is still a surge of adrenaline/endorphines/whatever with the outcomes.
I've talked at length to a gambling addict. Its absolutely a chemical addiction, just to chemicals his brain makes during the process. You can't apply logical decision-making expectations to the actions of an addict.Fair enough. I guess addictions in general don’t make much sense to those not experiencing it. Nice dude! What kind of genre is it? I’m wanting to write my own fantasy adventure novel at some point, I have no writing background but what the hell thought I’d take a stab at it. I love to read fiction.Just finished the prologue of an original story called Death to Kings. It's just a prologue thus far, but I feel like I've done a good job with layering plot and characters in it, and I'm really proud of it~
And I haven't been writing due to bipolar depression, so this is a good start.

Some Game Of Thrones medieval stuff eh? I dig it man. You mentioned anthropomorphic animals did you ever read anything from the Redwall series by Brian Jacques? They were my favorite book series as a kid and I’ve been re-reading them as an adult and they still hold up really well. It's sort of like GRRM's ASoIaF, but...different. Basically, what I have so far is that the Duke used bribery, blackmail, and a huge web of associates to depose and execute the old King, and only one bastard child - a daughter - escaped with the help of the King's closest confidant. Said confidant brought the daughter to a monastery to be safe...but it's hinted that she won't even be safe there.
I do a lot of dark fantasy, delve into horror occasionally, write stuff that are close to superhero/villain novels, anthropomorphic animals, etc. All of it is mostly fantasy, but it really depends on the setting.

Thats awesome! The Redwall series was my childhood too. I think read all the way to Lord Brocktree as a kid and then stopped so I decided to re-read them all again for the first time and in chronological order which I’ve never done before, and finish the whole series. I’ve found I’m actually enjoying it more as an adult lol. I like to smoke weed and read outside, helps stimulate the imagination. About to finish The Bellmaker currently and its one of my favorites so far.Fate, I LOVED Redwall! Those books were my childhood, and I still have them all (and Pearls of Lutra especially holds up because of Rasconza and Romsca stealing the show. Planning on posting a Redwall fanfic on AO3). I also love Mistmantle (by M.I. McAllister, series of five Redwall-like books; if you want political intrigue, read them; they're very good) and anything by David Clement Davies (Firebringer and The Sight are the books I have, and I was ugly-crying at both of them; he does not skimp on the brutality - with deer and wolves, respectively).
But me, I write anything that comes to mind. One of my anthropomorphic animal stories came from a dream: birds in a Prohibition setting with guns and other objects that are modified to be lightweight and fit in their talons or in lightweight satchels. I decided to just roll with it.
