As history has shown, it’s not always a good thing for a team to rest as long as the Panthers 🐆 have. Plus, the Bruins will be fueled by revenge.

The good guys got this 🐾

If you leave out the two games in which Linus Ullmark was (rumored to be) playing injured in last year's series {I know, they still count] -- his last eleven games vs the Panthers:

10-1-0 ; 2.25 GAA ; .932 Sv%

It's really hard to overlook those numbers when Swayman is 1-2-1 vs the Panthers.

There's definitely a valid argument to be made for starting either goalie.

The Panthers are not unbeatable. The Bruins won all 4 games against them this season. They also won 3 in the playoffs last year (2 out of 3 in Sunrise.) It certainly won't be easy, but a series win is not super far-fetched.

In fact, (including the playoffs) the Bruins are 13-6-1 in their last twenty versus the Panthers.
With a different lineup other than a few guys

Without Gadjovich or Bennett in the lineup I’ll go ahead and say it- the Bruins are tougher than them. Pat Maroon should bully them into putting Gadjovich in. Causing shit after the whistle, f***ing with the goalie…he should have some fun out there

I hope so @CDJ

This might be an opportunity here. Turn the tide. Get revenge for last year.

Half way through the 1st period Tkachuk enters the Bruins zone full speed, but is met head on with a clean, jarring check from McAvoy which knocks his mouth guard down his throat. He starts choking, but thankfully Danton Heinen is on the ice to perform the Heinenlich maneuver ...which dislodges the mouth guard and saves Tkachuck's life

Tkachuk seems to be ok, but is sent to the hospital for tests and doesn't return.
The Bruins take control of the game shortly after, scoring two goals in the 1st, one in the 2nd and an empty netter in the 3rd for a 4-1 victory and 1-0 series lead

..and then I woke up

Key to game one is that Big Rig has to get in Bob's kitchen and make him uncomfortable

I'm okay with taking a goalie interference penalty or two early in the series just to rattle him a little

Heading into Round 2, Jeremy Swayman definitely holds the goaltending edge in over Sergei Bobrovsky thus far in the playoffs:

Goals Saved Above Expected
Swayman = 10.9
Bobrovsky = 1.4

GSAA per 60
Swayman = +1.809
Bobrovsky = +0.278

Save% Above Expected
Swayman = +0.028
Bobrovsky = +0.004

GAA better than Expected
Swayman = 1.81
Bobrovsky = 0.28

Swayman has outperformed Bobrovsky by ~7x in each advanced statiscal categatory.

Oh, and let's not forget Bobrovsky's career #'s vs the Bruins. I'll limit it just to his time with the Panthers to be on the fairer side...

4-6-2
3.50 GAA
.893 Sv%

He is very beatable. Get traffic to the net!

Bs will need to be ready. Especially with head-hunting Tkachuk. He had some late hits near the end of the game. Didn't like the one on Carlo.

They are sore losers, and have the kind of players that lose their minds when they get beat like they did last night.
Bruins can't let them do that crap, but need to do it the "Chicago way", if it does happen. 😉
Heads up boys! Heads up!
Keep up the good work, you can break them!
