In 2022-23, Hughes recorded seven goals and 69 assists in 78 games played. His 76 points ranked third among defensemen last season.

I don’t think the Chiclets guys would quadruple down if they weren’t confident in their source(s). I’m guessing, as per usual, both sides are right in some way. Some players were probably fine sharing photos, and others weren’t cool with it.

i've personally never gotten the best vibe from the Chiclets dudes, so them exaggerating a story like this doesn't shock me.

I can totally see how some guys would be taken back by that but it may not have been Babcock's intent at all. we'll see if more comes out but given what happened in Toronto kinda surprised he even took that risk.

I absolutely could see Babcock thinking a gesture like this is meant to show you care. But he also might not understand that not every player would be comfortable with this, especially given the power discrepancy. Players would essentially feel obligated to share some personal stuff even if they aren’t ready to do so.
