Sebastian Aho is not really seen as a playoff specialist but despite this he's managed to become the first player to score at least 10 points or more in each of his first 6 playoff runs. One would think that this would be a record that Wayne Gretzky holds, but Gretzky had an embarrassing first playoff showing back in 1980 were he only had 3 points. After that he did put up 11 straight double digit playoff runs. Ironically this is a record that was held by Jean Beliveau who had 5 straight double digit playoff runs in the 1950s. Once again it's Sebastian Aho sticking it to the Montreal Canadiens and continuing the beef between the Canes and the Habs. Too bad Aho has no shot at winning the cup as he's forced to drag weak temamates like Teravainen and Kotkaniemi along for the ride. Imagine if he actually had some talent beside him to play with. Aho is the underrated kind of player that my Leafs would need as the "big" 4 on the Leafs only have 1 double digit playoff run each in their careers. Hoping we can trade Nylander for Aho this offseason for a needed shakeup...

Turbo's play off stat line
Games 89
Goals 23
Assists 27
Points 50
+25

John Tavares play off stat line
Games 62
Goals 23
Assists 23
Points 46
-14

JT is the top line center team Captainand has a massive contract
Turbo is a bottom six guy that gets top six minutes when a shake up is needed or an injury occurs.

Turbo makes 5.4
JT makes 11.

One could almost argue that Turbo is better in the playoffs than JT, but you can not argue that he is absolutely a better deal.

Also no way in hell Aho is traded to the Leafs outside of Matthews there isn't a player or asset the Leafs have that would be worth the trade

Great player. Lol at people who think Carolina don't have any gamebreakers.
I wouldn't say that Aho is a gamebreaker, he's just really, really consistent and good in many facets of the game. He's like the engine. Over this 6 year span he's got pretty much exactly 1.0 PPG in the regular season while playing in all situations and leading the forward group in ice time year after year.

But it's doubtful he's ever going to score 50 goals. In a great goal scoring year he's shown he could potentially get 40+, but has yet to do it.

Aho would be the ultimate 2C on a real contender. He's just a notch below the 1C elites and under 10 million for the next 5 years.
Or paired with another #1.5C.
He is a #1C, but not an elite one.
Imo there are only very few elite #1C.

McD, MacK and Barkov…who else? And everyone needs elite help like Drai, Rants and Tkachuk.
Aho didn’t have elite help…only very good line mates.

Disclaimer: no, I didn’t forget him. Yes, he is an elite regular season goal scorer but he doesn’t elevate any teammate.

Aho is the type of a player who's not really good enough to be the best player on a contender, but could easily be the second-best or a third-best player of a cup winner.
