Megan Rapinoe injury update: USWNT star updates her status for 2019 World Cup final after win vs. England
Rapinoe says she should be good for the final.

I feel like the woman's team is showing a ton of personality and that can only be good for the sport as it grabs headlines. Even the NFL let up on scoring celebrations for this very reason.
Keep them coming
I don't really see that as salt at all.
I think the American team and especially fans have been arrogant. I think there is nothing wrong with pointing that out. It certainly has nothing to do with salt. Just like pointing out the dive by Morgan was not salt just pointing out a fact.
People being salty don't generally realize it. It's absolutely salt. Why shouldn't they be confident?
I don't think it is all that good for the sport because I think if all you are getting is shock or outrage news that doesn't really build a fanbase. Sure it creates short term interest but the goal should be getting fans not eyeballs to see if they do any crazy celebrations.
Of course you don't.
The U.S. women's team is and has been incredibly popular. This isn't some one off year built out of "shock" and "outrage".
Man, I can only imagine why people hate US fans after reading some of the stuff written here today. It isn't the team pushing the buttons, it's the people who follow it. Our men's team can't even get in the goddamn World Cup, you would think people have some humility.
Except we weren't talking about their popularity we were talking about their personality getting attention.
Women's soccer suffers from "Olympic Syndrome" in that they can't get the popularity they want to continue outside of the World Cup. The "Victory Tour" after the last win was horribly attended and the qualifiers outside of the US team also have bad attendance (even the US team had trouble drawing fans).
The problem is the type of person that follows the USWNT isn't really someone that is a soccer follower in general. I saw much of this after the US Men were eliminated in the 2018 WCQ. Women's supporters couldn't stop trolling the men in regards to their "failure" and the "women's" success. Especially so in the feminist and the LGBTQ community, which follow the women's team without question or objection (except when demanding that Ellis be sacked, which is still constant even now). With the World Cup, those numbers of fans got even bigger and more obnoxious, including fans that may not have back them originally for political or social reasons.
One of the absurdities I saw online was the complaints from American fans after the Sweden game in Le Harve about the lack of Uber or "Special Trains" to take them back to their hotels in Paris.
I though the crying over the turf issues (which was baseless and unfounded) was bad enough.

I thought the tea drinking with the pinky up was funny, but that's just me...I honestly don't know enough, or watch enough of soccer/football to know what is, or isn't 'acceptable' when it comes time for a celebration...Although the trouncing the USA women gave Thailand was a bit overdone, and cringe worthy...Nothing against the U.S team but wasn't crazy about the tea drinking move by Morgan, there is being cocky/confident and then there is bush league stuff like that.
I am sure every American fan here will be on me now but it's the way I see it, I don't believe you rub it in like that. The day will come when they aren't on top anymore and payback might not be much fun for them.Best to keep that in mind and not make yourself a target, at least that is the way i see it.
I mean, why not just celebrate your goal normally and move on? Didn't see the point of that move.
Having said that, I like watching them play the game, they have an entertaining team.
I suppose it is funny when you're on the winning side, when you are on the losing side however......................wouldn't go over well and I can see why. It's rubbing it in and there is no need for it.I thought the tea drinking with the pinky up was funny, but that's just me...I honestly don't know enough, or watch enough of soccer/football to know what is, or isn't 'acceptable' when it comes time for a celebration...Although the trouncing the USA women gave Thailand was a bit overdone, and cringe worthy...
2. You don't think not having any Ubers after a sporting event is ridiculous? Wouldn't you be annoyed?
So lsugh then. The game may have been close, but the gap in talent and technical ability was, and has been clear to see.
Saying it was never going to be England is of speaking to illustrate the gulf in talent and technique and skill. Yes, sometimes a lesser teams threatens or even beats a better team, but it’s generally not the smart bet.
Do you know how far it is from Le Havre to Paris? It's 200 km. You would maybe find three people willing to drive that for what Uber gives drivers.
It’s the same as watching a game in Philly and getting pissed that no Ubers want to take them to New York to their hotel.
This to me is the crux of it. What Americans consider confidence Europeans tend to consider arrogance. Cultural differences..People being salty don't generally realize it. It's absolutely salt. Why shouldn't they be confident?
Two classless subbans!!
The majority of the time, yes.Are the Men any better attendance wise though?
