Apologies, decided to do a search for most popular beers in Germany, and Krombacher was up there.

What would it be then, Hofbrau? Spent some time in the Hofbrauhaus in Munich.....and it was quite popular there, lol.

Especially in Munich the most popular beer is called Duff beer ;-)

Nah it's Augustiner, also the Weißbier (white beer) sorts like Erdinger, Paulaner and Franziskaner are really popular.
No one admits that he's drinking Loewenbrau but everybody does, mostly on the Oktoberfest.
