Mcdavid has the points but he hasent looked all that good. Drai has been much more dominant by eye and stats. As of now he is the clear mvp
God damnit, what is it with you Draisaitl fanboys?! There is no way Draisaitl will get the Conn Smythe if McDavid breaks the assist record while being injured! It gets so tiresome that everytime Draisaitl overperforms with the help of McDavid, us true McDavid fans need to correct you and bring you back to reality! It's like you need to learn by the numbers in order to get it:

So what? He was still the greatest player ever in his prime. It’s not a stain on his legacy for having a great playoffs and not winning the Smythe. You should understand that as well as anyone here.

Crosby had 3 goals and 10 points in 2015 - 2016 through 2 rounds and still won the Smythe. McDavid has already matched Crosby’s ‘16 4 round playoff point total in assists alone and yet your posts suggest he’s undeserving of eventual consideration for the Smythe?

136 players have played at least 6 games these playoffs (ie 1 full round) and scored 1 goal or more.

Out of all 136 players - McDavid ranks 117th for shot % with 6.3%.

I wonder if he really is injured, and if it's affecting his shot?

Something is up. 64 goals. To 32 is a huge drop. He is also 27 now. While not old is no longer a spring chicken

I think it's either a bum shoulder or wrist. It's not just his shot that's off, but also his stickhandling has been sloppy. He can't seem to control the puck for more than 5-10 seconds without fumbling the puck, completely out of character of him.

You mean being human by being injured? Yeah he's human
He has 137 points (109 assists, +48) in his last 72 games since November 24th. He had 138 in his first 72 games last year (60 goals) before finishing with the 153. Since the awful start and injury causing missed time he’s reached his 2021 and 2023 level again statistically but you can see that something is bugging him and has been. I do think the injury has caused major issues with his shot and goal scoring this year but with the data here it is amazing how versatile he is. It’s also amazing that his playoff ppg (draisaitl’s as well) is Lemieux level at the moment without era adjustment.

109 assists in 72 consecutive games is 1.51 per game and would be good for the best non Gretzky assist per game before even era adjusting. 60 goals in 72 games last year is exactly what Auston Matthews did through 72 this year and McDavid did it on 6 less shots. A player showing he can be the best goal scorer in a single season for his era one year and then have the ability to show second best ever playmaking ability the next is sickening even if he is injured this year.

This thread is hilarious.

Crosby is the greatest playoff performer of his generation. Anyone arguing otherwise is a flat out idiot.

Connor McDavid has performed amazingly well in the playoffs the last 3 years. And yes - if Oilers reach the finals, there's a very good chance he'll be gunning for some of peak Gretzky's records, which is incredible.

Why fans of one player always feel the need to constantly bash another and vise versa is beyond me.
The irony.

He’s not a Drai fanboy. He’s a Crosby fanboy/Mcdavid hater. He only constantly hates McDavid because he knows that by the time McDavid retires he will be considered multiple levels above Crosby. Pretty sad how obsessed he is with hating.
