After watching him in the WJC and a few WCHA contests I think he could put up 60 points regularly with a couple 70-point campaigns at his peak. Great offensive instincts.

he is one of the more promising prospects out there. his overall game really has very few flaws. he is going to be a guy like a Pavelski or Kelser, guys that can do everything very well...but I think Stepan may even top out higher then them offensively.
either way, you guys got yourself a great young player, who I am almost 100% positive will turn pro early.
From the WJC and the Wisconsin games I have seen on NHL Network, Stepan is a gritty player. He goes to the net consistently and is not afraid to throw the body. He has speed a little better than average.
His passing ability is a great, but I have not seen enough of him to say whether or not it is at an elite level or a notch below. He has a pretty good shot too.
Stepan could probably step in on the NHL level and handle 3rd line center duties adequately just based on his defensive awareness and penalty killing ability.
Potential for him in my opinion is a excellent 2nd line center to solid 1st line player. But he definitely has a career in the NHL as a 3rd line player in the worst case scenario.
IMO he could captain the Rangers eventually. Amazing leadership skills, and great in all 3 zones. 60-70 point potential. Absolutely the steal of the 08 draft.
Stepan is a pretty complete player. I like the overall comparisons of Pavelski/Kesler but I think Stepan has more offensive potential. Stepan's biggest weakness offensively is his shot but that can be improved with hard work and added strength. With Stepan's character and work ethic, it's only a matter of time.
I actually think a Travis Zajac comparison may be pretty accurate.
but if you are talking about the better all around player, Stepan will be the man.
Eberle is just amazing, and I can't wait to see him in the NHL next year.
This.
As much as I like Eberle, Stepan, as mentioned, has it all with few flaws. Whereas Eberle is still small - with time to grow - and his skating is an issue.

I hope you understand that this statement is implying that Eberle is going to be a consistent 75+ point guy, because most here are pretty much on board with the thought that Stepan is going to be a 60+ point kind of player. Lots of things are going to have to go right for Eberle to become that player.

I first off should state that when I said its not even close, I was referring to their goal scoring abilities, not just overall points. I think Jordan Eberle is going to be a better goal scorer the Stepan, but thats my opinion.
honestly I feel Eberle is going to be that kind of player. I have very little doubt that Jordan Eberle will be a 70-80 point player in the NHL...very little. his size isn't an issue for me, nor will it be in the NHL. the kid will grow some, but either way I am pretty confident in his ability to produce.
Stepan could eventually be just as good, but if I was a betting man, I would bet on Eberle being better offensively. I see Stepan in the 60 point range maybe a tad higher for a few years.
nothing wrong with being a 65 point producing Selke winner, right? that is what Stepan one day will be.
Yeah, no way he'll be a first line center like Matt Halischuk.
Tedenby is a superstar! He's the next Marty St. Louis
Steps should become a 65-75 point center who gets it done everywhere on the ice. He may produce even more if he plays with Gaborik and really clicks with him.
It's tough to predict Stepan's max potential. When he was drafted the scouting reports all said that he was a natural goal scorer...and in his time at Wisconsin he has had some pretty goals, but he has turned into more of a playmaking center.
I wouldn't be surprised to see him post numbers like Scott Gomez or maybe Henrik Sedin in the NHL.
