regarding the first trade, i'm sure nashville says 'have a nice day - come again'. no offense, but would you trade dan hamhuis for that? probably not right? it's a garbage deal
regarding the third deal, i'm sure carolina would accept as soon as hearing it. in my honest opinion, the draft pick is VERY close to a 'yes' to deal cullen anyway, adding two young guys with speed/talent that can play is just gravy
regarding the second deal, i haven't been able to follow st.louis much this year or the latter half of last year. i can't comment on how they value perron, but it's not a 'bad' trade in terms of value/players, however from what i see/understand, st.louis can use some scoring. i don't see them excited to make this deal unless they were specifically high on hiller long term, if not, there is absolutely no point.
I don't think JD is going trade our leading goal scorer with a pretty high ceiling and a goalie thats 3rd in the leagues save%. If there is a trade with the Blues it will be a dman for some offense.
Um.. so yeh.. this trade proposal... I really dont see happening..
Trade 1.) As a ducks fan HELLS YES!! a nashville fan probably says see ya...
Trade 2.) I dont really wanna trade hiller.. i'd rather trade giggy
Trade 3.) Not a chance.. I'm not fond of matt cullen.. especially if hes gonna get paid 2.825 to be our 3rd line centre..
The Blues have arguably the best goaltending tandem going...they certainly don't need Hiller...especially at the expense of probably their best forward. Perron is going nowhere.
Conklin for Hiller wouldn't be a horrible trade, but there's just no way Perron goes in that deal (if at all). I like Hiller, but I also like Conklin and he's been very solid - IMO the Blues have a great goaltending tandem going right now. Their main problem has been offense. Dealing Perron, especially for that return, is not the answer. Besides, Conklin's signed for another year, and with Mason's contract expiring, I'd rather the Blues only have one goalie to sign by or during the summer.
If the Preds wanted to trade Hamhuis, it would be at the deadline to a playoff team as a rental. He would fetch much better prospects/picks than that package.
Perron is not going anywhere. Period. But Conklin might be traded at the deadline. A cheap goalie with playoff experience is quite a commodity for playoff teams with no real goaltenders (Philly) and they might overpay for him. I'd also try to resign Hiller and get rid of Giggy if I were the Ducks.
I'm not really sure if Matt Cullen is worth a 2nd rounder right now. Anaheim is stupid to do this deal.
