Rich Peverley is the new Mike Richards

[Sticky???]]Thats right I said it. 3 point game last night playing on a 3rd line with Marty Reasoner and Evander Kane. Great 2 way game, adept penalty killer, tenacious player by the net and in his own zone, makes players around him better, has excellent hockey IQ.

Will be an allstar in the coming years and will score over 70 points this season

Mike Richards is in his 5th season and we already need a new one?

How about Rich Peverley is the new Rich Peverley and Mike Richards is the old Mike Richards.

Yeah, Mike Richards is old news anyway. The dude is 24 already, might as well retire.

I am sorry, but please don't compare Peverly to Richards...not even close. Nobody brings what Mike Richards brings to the ice, Mike Richards is Mike Richards. Maybe Peverly will be a poor poor poor man's Richards in 7 years, but he is no Mike Richards.

Sounds good, I have some guys on my team who I am pretty iffy about in terms of even reaching 60 points, Peverley is still out there in the FA pool and I will pick the guy up.

I seen the game he had yesterday and I thought he did great. He is no Mike Richards but even Mike Richards is hard to compare to.

Buddy played in the ECHL and ECAC for half of his career, don't compare him to a player with the Juniors, International, and NHL accomplishments that Mike Richards has. Plus he is older than Mike, so...

Peverley will never be an elite player if he doesn't enjoy the frat bro lifestyle. Can't get hot chicks without khaki shorts and polo, bra.

At least he isn't predicting 90 points out of Peverly like another ATL fan...

His legacy knows no bounds. Even if Peverley is older than Richards.

Peverley is 3 years older than Mike Richards. Also he isn't the leader, physical player, or scorer that Richards is. And he will never be an All-Star.

Indeed. Compiling points in October - and last season on a bottom-feeder (sorry Thrashers fans, I'm an NYI fan - I known bottom feeders) is comprable to delivering clutch performances on a Cup winner...and for subsequent seasons.

If one wishes to make a bold prediction, go right ahead. Citing last night's game as any evidence is...nevermind.

Rich Peverly= Product of his environment. He couldn't cut it on a team that actually emphasized two way play.

I don't mean to rain on your parade here, but last year Aaron Voros was one of the leagues leading scorers after the first handful of games. He and Dubinsky were absolutely ripping it up in the first month...it went downhill from there.

Lesson: You can't really jump to these conclusions early on in October. If Peverley is still putting up this kind of production at the end of November, then it's time to start making comparisons.

Looks like flyers fans are shaking in their boots. LOL. Mike Richards has to step up his game if he doesn't want Peverley to take the Mike Richards spot.
