Don't know too many nicknames for non-sharks players, but I always liked Marc-Edouard Vlasic's nickname (Pickles)

Georges "The Chicoutimi Cucumber" Vezina. Greatest nickname I can think of.

Apparently he was nicknamed that because of his coolness under fire. I would have to assume that he came from Chicoutimi, Quebec.

Kinda disappointed that Bob "The Hound" Kelly and Moose Dupont didn't make it. At least Dave "The Hammer" Schultz made it. Also, The Fog Fred Shero

Anyways, I find derivatives of names or nicknames of other players or simply rhymes rather bad. Rocket Richard was great. Pocket Rocket was so-so. Russian Rocket was rather bad. "Golden Jet", great. "Golden Brett", sucks. Sid the Kid isn't really a nickname as much as a silly rhyme.

A good nickname tells you something about the person you're dealing with or reminds of a good anecdote. It isn't just a reframing of the name.
