After I'm torned between Hughes, Chaput, Lawson, Dodge, Borer, Samson and Peters... really... I don't see much difference between those.
Hughes and Samson could be solid 2nd liners
Chaput and Dodge great 3rd liners
Peters could continue to develop and claim a 1A role IMO. Backup is more likely, but he's got a fairly good resume up to now. This year, will offensive prowess in front of him, he could make a name for himself in the A.
Lawson, Borer both could be top 4... how Borer rebounds after is major injury (he was highly touted just a year ago) and Lawson responds to his first year in the A (not this year, but next) will speak volume as to how they end up.
Dumoulin. However, I would caution people not to expect production at BC right out of the gate.
Tommy Cross (2nd Rounder '07), Carl Sneep (2nd Rounder '06), Patrick Wey (4th Rounder '09), Philip Samuelsson (2nd Rounder '09), and returning players like Edwin Shea and Malcolm Lyles will all vie for icetime. Patrick Alber is another small defenseman with puck skills, but he's not likely a threat for icetime at this point.
What favors Dumoulin is that very few of those guys are offensive contributors. Tommy Cross is more of a stay at home player. Philip Samuelsson, son of Ulf, is decent in the offensive zone but nowhere near a force there. There are also questions about his skating, which mean a more defensive role for him. Patrick Wey is a wild card because he scored a lot in the USHL and he also was a fairly tough customer. I could see him being a two way presence and also earning time on the powerplay.
Dumoulin is one of the only real bread and butter puck movers coming into BC hockey next season. With the departure of Petrecki and others, the BC blueline is really going to have to take shape in a hurry. 4 Freshmen, 3 of which were drafted in the 4th round or earlier in '09, paired with Carl Sneep and Tommy Cross will likely make up the Top 4 in some capacity.
However, how the icetime will fall is anybody's guess.
