Heatley trade to Oilers - Waiting on Heatley
continued from

Quote:
Sources say Dany Heatley has been asked to waive his no-trade clause to go to Edmonton in exchange for Andrew Cogliano, Dustin Penner and Ladislav Smid. If Heatley agrees to waive it, it would appear that the Senators and Oilers will have a deal.
According to other sources he hasn't waived the NTC. Sens GM Bryan Murray is reported to have said the deal was conditional on it going down by midnight.

Possible that they are waiting to announce it. Also, they may have time to finalize the deal... this has happened at the trade deadline a few months ago. Trades were announced up to 45 mins after the deadline.

For what it's worth, RDS has removed all references to Heatley refusing to go to Edmonton from their report. Now it basically echoes the TSN version (a deal is in place, Heatley has been asked to waive his NTC, etc).

This is such a banner day for hockey fans and me as a Ranger fan in general. God bless the internet! Funny thing is I KNEW he wouldn't waive it, and felt sorry for the poor Oiler fans.
