a definite no from CO. Pavelec might be a good goalie eventually with a small chance at being a great one, but he's a long shot atm. In the 19 games he's played in the NHL, he's at a 3.42 GAA and .890 sv. pct. Not exactly comforting. Plus he's been a bummer to deal with, demanding trades and such.
On the other hand, Wolski is already a good player, and has a good chance at being a great one.
So, Colorado counter: Hensick and a 2nd for Pavelec
Unfortunately we'll have to pass on the original offer.
Not sure if Wolski's ever going to be a great player, or how much further he's going to develop, but I'm still high on him. Should be interesting to see how his offensive game is next year, now that he's gotten the defensive game to grips.
If next year is not a breakout year, it will be disappointing.
I think Atlanta would have to offer more, but they could be good trading partners.
Pavelec + Atlanta's 2nd for Wolski
Lehtonen for Wolski is more fair IMO.
A good prospect and a near first rounder? That is a little much for a guy who has never broke 22 goals or 50 points. I think Avalanche fans are exaggerating his value a bit. I'd be happier trading an expendable asset like Exelby if I had to add more.
I like the idea of getting a goalie like Pavelec, but not at that price. Wolski, unfortunately, hasn't proven all that much in his first few seasons, but Pavelec has proven even less, so basically this is a chance that Colorado would not take.

Good prospect. He may never be an NHL goaltender. Wolski is already a top 6 forward. I don't think we are exaggerating our players value.
Why are prospects worth their weight in gold on HFBOARDS?

If all you're giving is expendable garbage then we pass. Whether we're overrating him or not, realize you're trying to take one of our core young players when we're about to hit rebuild mode. How about this counter proposal: Clark + X for Little.

You're taking the sarcasm a little far. All I was saying is that Wolski is not worth as much as you want for him. I can agree that Pavelec hasn't proven much and I probably wouldn't trade Wolski for him, but you calling Exelby garbage is just ignorant. He is a very solid third pairing guy that can throw the body. I'm sure the Avs don't need him though. You know considering how stacked they are defensively.

Solid third pairing guy, why didn't you say so in the first place! We're getting an absolute steal for one of our better young players; sure you don't want our 1st along with him? Now that's taking sarcasm too far, but honestly think about it for a minute. The Avs are about to start a rebuild, and you want us to give you one of our core young players for an unproven goalie prospect and a third pair defender? Kick rocks.
My offer of Clark + X (I'm thinking a 2nd or 3rd) for Little still stands. Clark is a great third pair defender who can play both sides of special teams and block a lot of shots. Ridiculous, isn't it?
A good young NHL forward who can hit 50 points with little PP time and second line minutes. For a goalie who may never become an NHL starter? No thanks.
For Pavelec I think the only things the Avs should move are picks/prospects. Not roster players unless its bums.
Todd White is the same age as Hejduk and Smyth, has a much better cap hit, and scored 14 more points than either of them this season. So let's not get our noses bent too far out of shape over someone daring to offer him to you in a trade Avs fans.
That being said, I wouldn't offer Todd White in any trades this offseason. He is a steal at his cap hit, which is nice on a team that will likely not come close to the max cap number this offseason.
The problem with goaltending prospects, is that they almost always have less value than you think.
