Something about that team... Nash..Mason... It's fun to see this team succeed.
I never understood why people always wanted to contract this team. The team has never made the playoffs. Now, with the way they are playing their building is packed and rocking. Fans have a lot passion for this team.
I agree. I've always liked Rick Nash (don't think he gets enough respect) and then Steve Mason comes in to steal the show. Hopefully they make the playoffs and do well
He had a bad three and half minutes tonight after Malkin trucked him (which turned out to be a good play), but other than that, he was virtually unbeatable.
I contemplated starting a jinx thread for him, but decided against it.
There easy for me to like since they're close to me geographically, the underdog, and not in the Eastern Conference.
It was a great third period on tonight. I wish OT could have gone on forever. Mason was great when he had to be after the Pens tied it up and even better in the shootout.
They're a team that I can't hate. Even when they were up 3-0 against the Pens, I couldn't hate them.
I wish Nash, Mason, and the rest of this team the best of luck. They played a great game tonight, and I will definitely be paying more attention to them for the rest of the season and next season.
They're doing all of this without who was considered the top calder contender and their best center Brassard. Have been to a few games and the place definitely is an amazing environment right now. It's good for the entire city of Columbus and great for the fans who have waited for this moment.

18,156 seating capacity.
19,167 people in attendance tonight for the Penguins game.
I'm sure there were a lot of Penguins fans...but from the TV, the crowd sounded intense! It's a shame I couldn't get tickets.
Boston was the team nobody in the media thought had a snowball's chance in hell of making it last year & they did & gave MTL a scare. Maybe it's us this year?
I was there, a few rows behind the Penguins bench. It was intense. Pens fans represented very well. I think Mason frustrated most of the Penguins for most of the night. You could see them slamming their sticks over and over in frustration. Malkin was especially frustrated.
probably won't happen with the way they're playing, but i hope Columbus gets in at the 7th seed and takes on one of Detroit or San Jose. they're in prime position to be a dark horse and pull out a first round upset
i do find myself rooting for them to make the playoffs for the first time in the franchises history... i hope they go deep in to the playoffs because they have a pretty likeable team... hopefully they'll be able to build a good rivalry out of whoever they play
Personally, I think they play boring hockey - unless they're tearing apart the Wings of course - but outside of that, even as a Wings fan, I'm happy to see them making it into the playoffs. And honestly, I really hope Detroit doesn't face them. It'd be 2003 all over game. Stanley Cup Champs swept in 4 in the opening round at the hands of the hottest goalie in the league. *******.
