I thought it was already decided that Montreal probably doesn't need another scoring winger, and the top need would be a top-4 D? So you propose trading Markov for Gaborik? (And that doesn't even approach the issue of Markov's contract status vs. Gaborik).
Markov is making a case for the Norris very early in this new season and he is arguably very underpaid by the new dman standards. No way in hell he gets traded, especially not for what you have listed there.
Can people STOP including the Kings in all lame trade proposals?
LA WILL NOT GIVE UP ANY of the their core members. We are in full rebuild mode and the only thing I can see us ever giving up in a trade this year are the following:
Calder
Armstrong
maybe a 2nd in 2009 depending on the return
Boyle
Mid level prospects
Future considerations
Kings are not going to give up any core members on the team now let alone Hickey, Teubert, etc.
We also have Bernier and Quick whom will make the nhl soon and Bernier is our future goaltender so we don't need another. If we did we would have picked up Bulin off waivers for nothing.
Please share whatever drugs or medication you took this morning
Montreal with Markov = top 5 team in the league.
Montreal without Markov = probably not a playoff team
I think it's a consensus for Montreal fans that Markov is by far our most important player. He is signed for cheap. You're going to overpay by alot to move Markov out of Montreal.

And you think he is a worth a 21 year old budding superstar, who just signed a 7 year extension, plus Thomas Hickey, Matt Moulson, Erik Ersberg, Tom Preissing, and a 2nd round pick?
And you think he is a worth a budding superstar is just signed a 7 year extension? Again...share whatever you are on
No, I don't think he's worth Kopitar, he's worth more. If Montreal trades Markov for Kopitar one for one, Montreal would struggle to make the playoffs. Markov is more valuable to a team then Kopitar. Defense Superstars > Forward Superstars (and Kopitar is still only futur supertar).

Maybe not all that but I firmly believe that Markov, who is already a superstar, with his great contract is worth a hell of a lot especially to the Habs which is why he would not even be moved. So the point is mute.

He obviously doesn't think that.
Sigh....I'm too late aren't I? The thread is already derailed.
