Im am so happy right now! I heard some one say it's 5 years at a little over 5 mill per. If thats true, I will mos def take it! Woo Hoo! I give a solid A for this off season. Good Job Regier!
Do you try to work out extensions with any? Or wait until the end of the season?
But the core is set, and that is GREAT news.
Let ALL the UFA's walk. The money is better spent on RFA who will get significant raises, and letting a new youth movement populate the lower half of the lineup (Weber, Butler, Gerbe, Gogulla, Zags, Kennedy, etc)
I saw Roy, Stafford and a couple of other younguns at lunch today at a place on Delaware Avenue across from the Buffalo Club. They looked rested and ready.
It was kind of depressing though to realize how much taller I am than Derek Roy.

we could keep connolly and kotalik for little more than their already making now so i dont see any reason not too if they have solid years this season.
max is going to get a big offer if he does good this year and hes gone either way.
spacek can be replaced. hes a good complementary playerbut replaceable.
numminen will retire regardless.
so basically we finally have our core intact. id like to keep staff and connolly as guys that arent nesecarilly core players but tertiary players. we will see.

I know there is nothing to support this, but I think Staff will be a core player. He will be a leader, and has skill that he needs to develop. He is still a pup. Maybe we go with a poor mans Brendan Morrow.
Back to Poms...solid!!!! I think that is good investing.
