A thread or two about him is enough to reveal. I hardly think he is ready to be declared a legend. He's a good player, but he hasn't proven a thing yet, including a high scoring season in the A. He's improving exponentially, however, since being drafted, and continues to impress us Pens fans.
To stay on topic here, he's a potential 30 goal guy, who reminds me of a Ryan Malone, but right now without the physical game. Although he is known to be willing to drop the gloves, he doesn't do it all too often as of now, but that can change, along with his lack of an intimidating physical presence. He's great at using his frame to gain body position, he's got real nice hands, and a heck of a scoring touch, to go along with a very much improving hockey sense. He's got an uncanny ability to find the soft spots and bury his chances; often times they're not pretty goals.
On the other side, everyone on the planet understands the skating issues and while they are probably overblown by most, they certainly remain an issue, albeit an improving one. He needs another entire year in the AHL if you ask me, and then the next season he can achieve his callups. No reason to rush the player that has the potential to be a gritty, scoring winger; something the Pens and most teams always covet.

From what I understand, other than the advantages Malone has on Caputi that you touched on, the big difference between the two is that Caputi brings a fiery and consistent effort at a young age.
I'd gladly make that trade-off of effort for physical play. It'll help prevent a guy from floating for years until he's decides to play for a contract.

A legend on the Pens board? I'm not sure the majority of people have even seen him play a game yet. Alex Goligoski is more highly regarded at the moment it would seem and rightfully so, not sure where you came up with that. We're all looking forward to see what the guy can do when he finally makes it to the NHL, but he's got a tough task ahead of him to even make the team out of camp this year.

Oh its true. There are few faithful of his impending superstardom and an equal number of mockers. The battle of the two sides is more so what the legend is rather than the player himself.

HAVE YOU SEEN HIS STATS?
Caputi will soon become the king of the garbage goal. Mark my words. A few pounds, and he'll be a beast in front.
Of course, my number one guy would be "The Leaning Tower of Sbisa":
Then, you can't forget Don Corleone's main man, Luca Brasi:
And lastly, we have this Caputi character, with the wicked-awesome necklace:
Just kidding Pens fans, relax yourselves. I don't even know that much about Caputi, but I do hope our Luca turns out better for us. That is one sweet necklace though, no fooling.

Some kind of fight
Just don't ask me what it was
Just don't ask me what it was
Just don't ask me what it was
I think it's cause I'm clumsy
I try not to talk to loud
Maybe it's because I'm crazy
I try not to act too proud
Only hit until you cry
After that you don't ask why
You just don't argue anymore
You just don't argue anymore
You just don't argue anymore
Yes, I think I'm okay
Walked into the door again
If you asked just what I say and
It's not you business anyway
I guess I'd liked to be alone
With nothing broken, nothing wrong
Just don't ask me how I am
Just don't ask me how I am
Just don't ask me how I am
My name is Luca
I live on the second floor
I live upstairs from you
Yes, I think you've seen me before
If you hear something late at night
Some kind of trouble
Some kind of fight
Just don't ask me what it was
Just don't ask me what it was
Just don't ask me what it was
And the only hit until you cry
After that you don't ask why
You just don't argue anymore
You just don't argue anymore
You just don't argue anymore
