So whose watching it tonight? I bought my tickets a few weeks ago and im pumped about seeing this movie.
Saw it too nights ago... whatever expectations you have for the movie will be met.

I am very much looking forward to seeing this one. The reviews I've read (from reviewers I generally agree with) have all been superb. By all accounts, if you liked BB, you'll love this movie.

I didn't even like Batman before i went into the theatre; my girlfriend basically dragged me in with her friends who loved it. The first time I saw Ledger with all that make-up on.....
I wouldn't take a 10 year old to the movie... probably not even a 12 year old.
But I'm a pretty conservative parent.
There was a roughly (?) 10 year old girl at the advanced screening downtown Wednesday... I think she was going to have nightmares.
My buddy I went to the movie with said Ledger was the scariest character he's ever seen in a PG-13 movie. I'll concur with that.
Times have certainly changed. I remember getting a chance to see Jaws as a kid and thinking that the movie was terrifying, then watching it again a year ago and not even being remotely frightened by it. From what I have read, keeping the kiddies away from this one is probably a good idea. Then again, I got to watch R rated movies as a kid and it hasn't come back to haunt me.
Without spoiling anything, I'm very shocked that the movie got a PG-13 rating. It doesn't play like a PG-13 film and there are moments that are decidely not PG-13.
But I watched my first R-rated movie at 7, my first porno at 12 and I'm super liberal a person when it comes to this sort of thing. If the kid is tough, I'd have no problem taking him. If you're at all conservative, I think you'd better leave them out.
Awesome movie. Batman Begins was fantastic, but the Dark Knight is better. This is the first movie I've seen in my life where my first thought after it was over is that I have to see it again.
As for kids, this is definately an R rating. Somebody ****ed up labelling it PG-13. Alot of kids will be scared by this movie.

What's the general consensus on kids seeing this one? Over 12? Over 10?
To be honest I would keep kids under 12 away. And I'm usually not picky about that kind of stuff, but it is pretty frightening and sometimes quite disturbing, some kids may not handle it so well. This Joker will scare the crap out of most casual movie goers, let alone kids and the story goes very dark by the end.
And this is coming from someone who watched Robocop several times at age 8.

Wow kids today are weak!
Seriously my mom worked at a video store and was renting me movies from 70's and 80's that were horror that were full of violence, gore, nudity, etc and i fine. That was 1989. Movies got away with alot more stuff back then also.

I watched Helter Skelter, Friday the 13th, the Exorcist, etc alone as a kid when I was about 11 yrs old.
Other than some weird quirks like always looking behind me every 10 or so seconds and making the sign of the cross every 15 I turned out completely normal.

Haha, my first violence movie was say....8? All I remeber was some guy was tied up and then whole screen was covered with blood then this other guy with a face that was half rotten (Sorta like your avie) popped up and started screaming and then started stabbing the guy.

Well it depends on context. I watched all types of horror movies as a kid, but the Joker is actually probably a bit more frightening. He's more like a serial killer.
The character is a complete psychopath and it does get disturbing at times. If you're taking kids to this thinking it's going to be a fun comic book movie, I think that might be a mistake. It's much darker than even Batman Begins.
Kids over 12/13 I don't think will have a problem with it, but it's very much a movie for adults. As long as you know that going in, then it shouldn't be a problem, depending on the kid.
pass:
all these Batman movies are lame since the beginning. what they need to do now is take the Frank Miller stories (or even Alan Moore's killing joke) and make the Batman franchise into a Sin City type creative cinematography experience.
the older movies were like a "play" on film. just corny nonsense. Batman begins was ok and a step in the right direction but still highly lame. Batman is a comic character. make it a comic experience, not a stupid comic made into a Real Life Drama. it would make Batman way more dark, visually pleasing, mysterious and menacing instead of just some Daryl Katz turd who plays with lame toys a prop crew makes.
"check out this lame car we designed." no. how about make the movie cooler overall?

Batman is a tool anyhow.
V wastes his storyline.
Wow u are gonna regret saying that and looking like a turd yourself when you see the movie and sin city was a pile of hot garbage who sucks people in cause it looked cool only to really really suck in the end
