A little board so. Who was your favorite flyers prospect who never made it or who you thought was going to be a player and didn’t pan out. Going back to 1990. For me:
Clayton Norris- thought would be a nice 4th line player.
Shane Kenny
Kimbi Daniels
Claude Jutras- didn’t really know anything about him but thought he would be the next tough guy the flyers produce.
Jason Beckett was one for me because this girl I liked in school went to a Phantoms game and he got in a fight and she thought he was hot, so I kept tabs on him and inanely gave her updates.

Wow, didn't know Norris was a Flyers prospect. He did his time in the UK leagues, played for my side too. A reasonable player, if nothing else.
I was really excited about Drozdetsky for a while.
My first thought when I read the thread title.
Par Styf, simply because of the name. Never mind that he wasn't any good, you want a guy named Par Styf to make it.
Colin Sheilds. Pretty good for the Phantoms, had a nice season in 97-98, looked to be a solid 3rd liner but couldn't keep it up.
Maxime Ouellet. Finally, a top notch goalie prospect! But that's all he was, a prospect. Man, that Oates trade doesn't sting anymore when you consider in the end Washington got a plate of crap for him.

Par Styf made it in my EHM league, somewhat. Actually signed him and as fate would have it, trade him for Jason Smith (who was on the Penguins). That was long before he was actually traded here.
I thought he had it too. Interesting story...during training camp in Hershey Mitch Lamoureaux and Clayton Norris had to spend extra time with him on the ins/ outs of fighting. The instruction didn't help that much.
For me it would be: Brian Dobbin, Jocelyn Perreault, Corey Foster, and Yannick Degrace.
Seidenberg, yea I know he's playing in Carolina now with decent minutes, but I thought he would really develop into a great PP point specialist with an insanely hard slapshot.
those 2 made it, maybe not to star level but guys who really didnt even get a cup of coffee. did think juhlin would mesh with lindros and they would be a powerful line esepcially after the 94 olympics and juhlin played very well.
Flyers had a real tough guy in the minors who was just beating the snot out of everyone he came up against. This was in the mid 90's back when the Phantoms were the next generation of Broad Street Bullies. I believe the guy's name started with a "B" (it may have been Frank Bialowas but I'm not certain) and I was anxious for him to get called up in a year or 2 to wreak havok on the NHL tough guys. If memory serves me correctly, his only down side was that he was relatively short, though he was stocky. He may not have had the size to hang with the big boys in the NHL but I'll tell you this, he sure did own everyone in the AHL for a few years. He left the Phantoms a few years later and ended up in Hershey of all places (the team that the Phantoms had much bad blood back then, not just a rivalry but actual BLOOD spilled between them).
+1 on both those guys. I really thought we had our goalie of the future when Boucher took us to within 1 goal of the Final in 2000
I remember Niinnimaa being pretty good his first full season as well I think he got a little over 40 points.

Boucher had a good year and half and then became an injury replacements for many teams. He may have made it back to the NHL at this point as a back up, but for how high he was picked, he didnt make it in my mind....
Niinimaa also only had a couple good years and was expected to be much more than he was.
If the original post meant guys that didnt even play in the NHL much then I have to think about it somemore.

"The Animal"?
I remember him and couldn't wait to see that guy in the bigs, then boom he was gone.
I always wanted to see Neil Little make it. He got the call up a few times but...

Frank Bialowas had no business in the NHL. He had no hockey skills, all he did was fight and in the NHL he wouldn't have been a good fighter.
