Coyotes change AM radio affiliate

I just received a text from the Coyotes Txt Club to listen to XTRA Sports 910AM at 7:00AM tomorrow for a special announcement from the Coyotes.... Anyone have any idea what it is?

Just got that too. Came here to check it out. It's pretty weird that it's on 910 though. Maybe they have switched to that station from 1060. That would be a plus because 1060 sucks.

All AM stations suck.. the broadcasts are statically awful. They really need to think about switching to an FM station

I wonder what this could be...its probably something not majorly important but its always fun to speculate. There is nothing new on the PHX website. R they doing a plug for their Draft party maybe?

They used to be on KDKB, 93.3 FM. I'm not sure why they're no longer there....

Probably because alice coopers night time radio show gets better ratings than hockey on the radio in a non hockey market.

I hope they go to 910 though, 1060 is the worst sports station in the valley and 910 actually talks about the coyotes on occasion. The only notable exception on 1060 is Mccabe.

yes their broadcast radius is horrible but I usually listen online anyway.

It's probably going to be something stupid like new 8 game ticket packages or something from the land of who cares.

The fact that it's on 910 pretty much tells you what the announcement is.

910 is now our station instead of 1060. Doan and Moss are still over there talkin.. Wayne is off the phone

Now they are talking about why Doan stuck w/ team... he said he believed them when they said they had a plan and he's happy that he did. They also talked about sticking to the game plan, rebuild slowly and believe in the youngsters and give them opportunities.

Now they are talking about the draft party the radio guys will be there along w/ Mules and DMo and Heeter/Debrusk.

All but saying outright that an UFA like Marian Hossa is not in the plans, eh?

Broadcasters Bob Heethuis and Louie DeBrusk will continue to call all of the exciting Coyotes action. In addition to coverage of Coyotes games, the station will air pre and post-game Coyotes programming and a weekly magazine show hosted by XTRA Sports 910’s Luke Lapinski, who enters his first season as a Coyotes radio host.
So does this mean no more Matt Rosen???

I listen to 910 online, never listened to 1060 online. Didn't even think they had the option.

Best move the yotes could have made from a business standpoint 910 is a clearchannel powerhouse, they have more listeners than 620 and better broadcast range than 1060. Now Bob Kemp needs to move to a real sports station so that everything good about 1060 is gone and it can become la musica!

This is really good news. I work nights, so I listen to the games on the radio when I can, but it's hard to hear the action through all of the fuzz on 1060 (but I still listen).

I actually emailed Doug Moss last season and complained about 1060 and recommended 910, so I like to think my voice was heard. I know it's not very likely that my email had any effect on the team's decision, but you never know.

A bit of a welcome culture shock for a Yotes' fan that this is the big news of the offseason.

So far, I think that honor still goes to Blake Wheeler telling the Coyotes to take their contract and stick it. We still have the draft and the Tocchet rumor for added off-season drama.

There's also the Vrbata situation and FA period hasn't started. Although, I doubt we'll be making much noise come July 1st.

Right, I would imagine the biggest noise will come on draft day should there be any trades. Of course, you never can tell.

I've already blocked Wheeler out of my subconscious. Leave me alone, he doesn't exist.

I am so indifferent on Vrbata re-signing I may soon come to the same block level with him.

but yes, I am excited about the draft.
