So it's just a press conference about the firing of Nonis?

Sounds like a waste of air time so far. We expect better and our fans expect better. Thats about it.... wtf? Sounds like they are just starting to look at GM's. The timing of this just gets worse and worse.

They've begun the process of looking for a GM, have a few good candidates, blah blah blah...c'mon, say something worthwhile!

"leadership comes with responsibility" blah blah blah

Jesus, this guy doesn't know dick all about anything.
He claimed he's looking for a sustainable team that will be competitive for years to come. So... what the hell was Nonis trying to do?

edit: Best goalie in the world blah blah blah... when it was clear that Luongo wasn't even CLOSE to being the best goalie in the world. If he's your crutch and doesn't perform... how is that the fault of Nonis.

****. This guy is clueless.
I hate this.

The press isn't helping by lobbing WEAK softball questions to Aqullini.

Aquillini sounds incredibly clueless and defensive.

I'm also getting sick of hearing buzzwords and the same crap being cycled over and over.

This press conference is making me feel worse.

What a joke. Sometimes I seriously dislike being a Canucks fan. I might have been able to stomach the firing if they had a decent replacement in line, but like others have said, this appears to be a knee-jerk reaction by a meddling owner.

The decent replacement may be someone still involved in the playoffs so they can't talk about him..

Honestly, Aquilini sounds like an idiot. Really sounds like a pretender. I am very concerned now for the future of this franchise - I don't think the ownership could attract the best and brightest out there.

BS. He's saying 'we didn't make the playoffs and that's the bottom line' for many times, yet when asked about why he fired him, is it just because of the playoffs, he stumbles out a lame answer in 'oh it's because we had a review and looked at what we had in terms of long term future', which is what Nonis built in terms of the prospect pool. Complete bush league.

And what's worse? They just started looking at new management - meaning that this is VERY knee-jerk. Bloody hell.

"We did a review! We had to fire him! And we had to fire him for the fans, the fans deserve better" Good call Aquilini, touche! Why did you fire Nonis again? "We fired him because we did a review, a review that led us to fire him! The fans deserve better according to the review!"

Okay Aquilini, we understand that you did a review, but why did you fire Dave Nonis? "We fired him because of the review, and the fans! The fans derserve better!" etc. etc.
