Big move!! Actually I think a 7th isn't that much for Hlavac.

Good trade for both teams, NSH gets depth, TB gets more cap space I guess.

with Gelinas and Ortmeyer out for extended time, I guess this deal had to be made.

Would have liked to have seen a top six guy brought in as well, but what are ya gonna do.

like nmk said, this deal had to be made but it would have been so much nicer if we had gotten both hlavac and prospal

He hasn't been part of any NHL shootouts yet, I don't think.. so probably not.

And you have to have a small amount of finishing ability to be good in the shootout, and sadly Jan has none.

It's kinda sad what happened to him. He wasn't a stud but he was a very good player for the Rangers. 19 goals one year and then 28 (yes, 28) the next year. Then the Rangers sent him to Philly in the Lindros trade and he basically has sucked it up ever since. Still, he has 9 goals. He isn't TOTALLY worthless.

believe it or not, he's actually looking pretty good for the preds so far. he's got good chemistry with erat and legwand, and has, I believe, 4 points in 3 games so far. Not bad for a seventh round pick.
